Re: 2010 NFL Draft Thread
I should've put OLB not ILB. I think he can immediately step in at SLB and be effective and then maybe take over for Mike Peterson on the weak side in following years. I figured if a player of his player of his caliber fell the Falcons might end up drafting him because it could give them more flexibility on defense. I'm still changing things up though so I'll probably end up posting my final mock late wednesday.Comment

Re: 2010 NFL Draft Thread
Gotcha. Yea we need a replacement for Petterson but I rather have Witherspoon instead. Pettersons problem is hes very slow and can't cover no one. McClain looks like he would have the same problems plus hes just built to be a MLB.
I see a lot of mocks having us take the DE from Michigan. I don't know too much about him but we desperately need a pass rusher to help Abraham. I feel Witherspoon is a sure fire stud but if we do go DE in the 1st round I just hope they are productive.Comment

Re: 2010 NFL Draft Thread
So it seems that no one thinks that Demaryius Thomas will go before Dez Bryant? I didnt hear anything about 'maryius having the attitude problems nor missing an entire season due to ncaa violations like Dez did. Seems to be a safer pick, IMO, for the Broncos. Is he not as fast as Bryant?

Re: 2010 NFL Draft Thread
Just by looking at the games I feel Bryant is faster in pads. My understanding is Thomas has inconsistent hands. He reminds me of Colston from the Saints. Colston is a nice big WR, inconsistent hands at times but when hes on he dominates.Comment

This week has been going by fairly quickly.
Can't wait for the draft. God...please don't let AJ draft a Linebacker or a Defensive Back in the 1st, I'd really appreciate it.Originally posted by WatsonTigerOne out of 7 billion, and we still tagged your ***.Comment

Re: 2010 NFL Draft Thread
I officially hate the Browns spot in the draft. Too high for Berry, too low for Thomas.
I'm pretty sure that another team will be drafting at 7. The only question is if the Browns trade up or down.Too Old To Game Club

Re: 2010 NFL Draft Thread
I'd hope for Matthews in the 1st and Cody in the 2nd. I know he's got the weight thing but, he had to of produced pretty well to be a starter in Alabama. You look at Shawn Rodgers or Vince Wilfork and they don't have they best bodies in the world but, they get it done.Last edited by SouthernBrick; 04-21-2010, 12:15 AM.Originally posted by WatsonTigerOne out of 7 billion, and we still tagged your ***.Comment

Re: 2010 NFL Draft Thread
If I had to choose between them I'd choose Matthews because, SD did do pretty well without premiere DT although they are harder to find than productive RB's so I'd probably grab one If I could in the 1st just because, of that fact alone. A improved running game would help tremendously especially with a fairly easy schedule. I think It would be almost impossible to have another slow start this season but, you never know.

I really hope not, because I think there are just a lot of really good HBs that will be there in the 2nd. I really like Tate and Hardesty personally...but if Earl Thomas is off the board along with Kyle Wilson, I think Mathews will be the guy.
Texans also could use Center/Guard if Pouncey or Iupati is there i'd love that pick...but a lot of the media here thinks Mathews is high on the list and will not fall to SD...but one thing the media is usually wrong (Mario Williams, Cushing, D.Brown...) so I also have a feeling the Mathews thing is something the Texans love to have out there, because realistically they can go a lot of ways at #20.Comment

A lot of whats coming from the Texans is that they really like Mathews and that if he's there he'd be taken.

I'd be happy with a lot of the backs in this draft. Hopefully one will be taken in the 1st or 2nd.Originally posted by WatsonTigerOne out of 7 billion, and we still tagged your ***.Comment
