Still in complete shock from yesterday. Absolutely unbelievable. I had a funny feeling that this game would be the end of Matt Hasselbeck in Seattle, whether it be through turnovers or injuries. He played like 2004 Hasselbeck.

Now I'm praying for a Green Bay win so we face the Bears next week!!

The injuries had nothing to do with that lost. Our defense played horribly and we were pretty healthy on that side of the ball. We gave up 41 points that's a defensive issue.
You looking at the Chair MAN!

Number may not tell the whole story ,but they never lie either.

Hasselbeck played an almost flawless game. I'm so happy I got to see him play one more classic game in Seattle (if they don't bring him back).

I'm stealing this quote from a YouTube comment:

"Fun Fact. This is the first time in the history of the NFL that a team has been eliminated from the playoffs during their bye week."

I think the Bears are hoping for that too. I think they want another crack at the Hawks.

According to Jay Glazer the Saints were willing to give the Bills a 3rd round pick for Lynch, but the Bills worked out a deal with the Seahawks.....cool story

Thank you Buffalo for giving us Marshawn Lynch for below market value. You're awesome.

In a sport where your entire season comes down to a single game, it remains an utter travesty that Seattle got to play this game at home.
NFL is not a fair system. It finds champions, not the best teams. If the top 2 teams are in 1 conference (Patriots and Colts, say) then only 1 will ever play the Superbowl. That's not fair.

But it doesn't have to be. To be the champions you need to win your division, then your conference, then the superbowl. Saints are a good team but they didn't even win their division. If you can't do that then do you deserve a home game?

(I concede it's easy for me to say this as a Hawks fan. But NFL is all the more watchable by the current system. Every game counts... Try watching the English Premier league the end of the season when one team's won weeks before... dull, dull, dull.)

It was market value, because nobody else on the market would give a better offer.

For all those Saints fans that are blaming this loss on injuries, I'd like to inform you of something: the Seahawks have bigger, more impactful injuries, and have had them all season. Remember when we played Oakland, and we were 2 games up in the division? We lost like 4 players on defense alone (not to mention that same D was ranked 2nd in rush defense up until that game).

Add in Okung's glass ankles, Hasselbeck's wrist and hip (and concussion), Mike Williams' foot, and Tatupu's lack of health, and you got the proper ingredients for a 7-9 season. I honestly think we could've went 10-6, if it weren't for the injuries.

As for the playoff seeding issue, the Saints may have had a better record, but they didn't win their division, and that's what it comes down to. Take care of business, then you won't have this problem.

Plus, if the Saints are THAT GOOD, then they should've beaten us ON THE ROAD. The whole "the Saints are better" thing is negated because the Seahawks won.

And, that's another thing: can we stop talking about what the Saints DIDN'T do, and talk about what the Seahawks DID DO? Bottom line, the Hawks came to play. There wasn't any crappy ref involvement; there wasn't anything that even remotely resembled a hint of flukiness; and, there wasn't any sort of "good luck" or "bad luck".

The Seattle Seahawks won this game in great, convincing, and historic fashion. That's all there is to it. They needed to do EVERYTHING right for them to win this game.

                        And, they did just that...

Exactly, the playoff system is about finding the best team, not about advancing the best teams to where they should be ranked. The saints did deserve a home playoff opener, and maybe if we played there they would have won. But since they lost to us at home, theres a good chance they would have lost to any other team at home.

Edit: also I'm really enjoying reading all of the Seahawk trash on the first few pages. Everyone knew that the Saints were favorites but believing they could go into Qwest field and utterly dominate in a playoff game is just pure uneducated east coast bias if I've ever seen it.

New Orleans is not on the east coast or close to it.

Picking NO to win big was just a bad prediction, which happens to everyone from time to time.

It is 2 states away from Florida, but if you look at it it's not all that far at all.

I'm not really blaming anything on the injuries the players on the field for the defense should have won it for us, it was obvious that the loss of Malcolm Jenkins hurt the secondary more then anyone could imagine. Who would have thought in his 1st year at safety he would make that much of an impact
