Re: NFC Wild Card: Saints @ Seahawks
Nope Betts was placed on IR awhile ago. This really sucks, but oh well as long as Reggie stays healthy I guess we'll finally get to see what he can do in a lead back role(good thing he has shown up in playoffs and against tampa last week). People are prolly gonna say our Super Bowl hopes are over, but heh I still trust Brees with the ball in the playoffs.
I actually like Jones with the ball some before that huge fumble last week, Bush will prolly get enough touches to make a difference if he chooses to show up, Deshawn Wynn prolly is nothing more then a few carrys maybe, Heath Evans could get a few runs idk. I wouldn't expect a lot of runs tho a lot more of the short passing game.
It's time for Reggie to start earning all that damn money anyways. Now there is no more excuses from either side.Last edited by da ThRONe; 01-05-2011, 06:16 PM.You looking at the Chair MAN!

Re: NFC Wild Card: Saints @ Seahawks
There is no reason Bush can't carry the load in the playoffs. He missed almost the entire season he should be one of the freshiest players going into the playoffs. With a broken bone. Which means once the bone is 100% there shouldn't be any farther set backs like with a knee or ankle.Saints, LSU, Seminoles, Pelicans, Marlins, LightningComment

Re: NFC Wild Card: Saints @ Seahawks
I have been waving the "Hand the ball off to Bush" banner for a couple of years now. I think this could really be a blessing in disguise. Bush should be a 30-40 touches type of players I can understand averaging 25 touches just because of the Saints balance but IMHO when healthy it should never be below 25 touches. You looking at the Chair MAN!

Re: NFC Wild Card: Saints @ Seahawks
40 times with the ball in a game is too much to ask of anyone in the NFL.
If Bush is gonna be our lead back in the playoffs the ideal amount of touches will be prolly 20-25, 15-20 carries with 5-10 catchesSaints, LSU, Seminoles, Pelicans, Marlins, LightningComment

Re: NFC Wild Card: Saints @ Seahawks
Obviously, any sane person would bet on the Saints. Hasselbeck is banged up, the line is awful and can't protect him, and when Hasselbeck starts getting hit too much with the team behind it's only a matter of time before he starts forcing throws. That said, his worst games were when Okung and Williams were out, if they play, that helps him significantly. He is capable of getting hot, and if he can give the defense some time to rest, they might be able to hang in there against the Saints' offense.
But anyone who watched the first game between these teams knows how easily Brees carved up Seattle's secondary. It was pitiful. I think Trufant might have been injured, but either way, he had plenty of time to throw, and he basically had his choice of who to throw to.
But given that it's a home game, I think Seattle has something better than a zero percent chance of winning, maybe 10-20% but that's better than nothing. It's just going to have to be one of those games where everything goes right, Leon Washington breaks a couple of big returns, Golden Tate makes a big play, etc. As a fan, I just hope it's a game worth watching, that will make it a little easier losing the 8th pick in the draft.Comment

Re: NFC Wild Card: Saints @ Seahawks
Once again I said 40 touches which include punt returns and catches. When you look at Chris Johnson and Run DMC these guys are getting 30-35 touches a game and they aren't the biggest backs. You looking at the Chair MAN!

Re: NFC Wild Card: Saints @ Seahawks
Chris Johnson an Run DMC are actually good at running the ball unlike Reggie Bush. I mean its been how many years an he still hasn't shown he can run the football well. Hes a really good weapon tho.Comment

Re: NFC Wild Card: Saints @ Seahawks
The only person slowing Reggie down lately is Payton play calling. It's hard to be productive running the ball with so few carries. When Bush has been getting carries he has been a very productive runner. You looking at the Chair MAN!

Re: NFC Wild Card: Saints @ Seahawks
Yeah great weapon, give him the ball enough atleast against Seattle and he'll make a few plays. This is really his chance to prove he can do some running up the middle with him presumably being the main back for once in his careerSaints, LSU, Seminoles, Pelicans, Marlins, LightningComment

Re: NFC Wild Card: Saints @ Seahawks
Ah ok, I thought you meant carries. 40 touches still might be a tad too much though. That's a lot to ask of one player game in and game out.Indianapolis Colts
