That may be the case, but it doesn't take away from other things that Ben does really well

Yeah he had a bad game. I thought something the announcers said a few times was pretty accurate. He's like the guy who hits for power but not average. He may strike out the first 4 or 5 at bats but that 6th at bat is going over the fence. Just so there isn't any confusion I think that is a bit dramatic, but the overall message is fairly accurate.

He put them in a hole early, even if at least one of those INTs was due to an arm in his chest. He didn't get it done at the end. However, he did a lot in helping his team get back into it.

I said it before the game (though maybe not here), and I'll say it again: Rodgers should probably be in the thread title. He might be number 1, even over Brady. The Packers rushed for 50 yards, gave up 387, and got beat in the time of possession battle. Clay Matthews' pressure on the ball and Roethlisberger combined with Aaron Rodgers' ability to convert touchdowns and seal the deal at the end are the reasons the Packers won today.

Turnovers lost Pitt the game, not Rodgers. Rodgers was great no question but dumb TO's lost Pitt the game.

i think threads like these are funny sometimes because last year february, drew brees name was tossed around as the best qb in the game, now rogers should be in there

                      wow

granted he is coming off a SB win, i would even pick them to win the nfc next yr muchless rogers being mvp/best QB next yr...

he had a great run the last couple of weeks, but he is still young with a bright future.

eli looked great in 07 playoffs, where is he now ?

there is no way imo rogers jumps over brees/rivers which means he is not even top 5 material

That's a great analogy and very accurate.

Agree and disagree. First off, Rodgers looks great right now coming off a SB win, so obviously at this point in time he'll be tossed up there with the greats, even if he shouldn't be. It's called being a victim of the moment. Happened last year with Brees, now it's Rodgers' turn. That I agree with.

What I disagree with is your last sentence. Rodgers isn't even top 5? That's pushing it. I think he's definitely top 5, arguably top 3 over Brees.

Talent wise, Rodgers has been right up there with Manning and Brady the past 2 or 3 seasons. This is just the year he's finally getting that credit. The guy can make every single throw you ask him to make and some that you won't ask him to make and he'll do it consistently.

Someone else posted tiers of QBs and I agree with it. I think it was this:

                            Brady/Manning

                            Rodgers/Brees/Rivers/Ben

i wont call this AR break out season, but no one expected this from him at this point, yes they /he got hot and win it all and he played well in the playoffs..... i loved to see the young bucks grow up however

to place him in the same boat with vets who have done work for years with teams gameplanning for you season after season is a bit too early.

this bandwagon praise is premature imo, he still goes to sleep in games way too often and can look clueless at times, not top 5
