One would think the Saints would pull this out by a few scores, however sometimes the 49ers can really bring it.

I'm gonna say 28-17 Saints unless the 49ers shut down Brees and make some defensive scores.

geez, some of you think the Saints are the next coming of christ

        they have flaws on defense

49ers have people the play for money too

special teams best in the league

should be a fun one to watch

I see what you're saying. I can tell you as a fan of a team that's leaned on its defense for years I can't say I agree with you. Keep the D on the sidelines resting by not taking chances that result in turnovers, and don't put them in short field situations is the best thing you can do for them. If the score/situation gets to the point where the offense needs to take more chances, you need to hope your QB can do that (jury's still out on Smith with this one so it'd be nice if there was more evidence to go by) but in a do or die situation like this, you really just hope that situation doesn't come up.

Regardless of the outcome I'm very happy for the season we have had. We weren't even suppose to win the division let alone get a second seed in the playoffs. Great year, and this being the first year in another new system with new staff it should only get better!

This should be a great game. Obviously a lot depends on how our Defense handles all of their weapons. I do believe the most important factor will be if we can get pressure on Brees. A close second being coverage but they both play off each other anyway. As far as the Saint and their Blitzing, we did play them pre-season where they felt the need to prove some sort of point and Blitz like crazy in a pre-season game. So at least we've had a taste and I think our O-Line will be ready for them.

(Maybe Harbaugh foresaw this game which in turn made him not return Sean Paytons phone call which in turn made Payton let the dogs go in a pre-season game which in turn gave our O-Line some experience with them...ya never know!)

Harbaugh and Payton said that that call never happened.

"Asked how he felt after watching the Saints' prolific offense in Saturday's 45-28 win over Detroit, Harbaugh said: "It makes me go to bed and sleep like a baby. I wake up every hour crying."

Right, because Payton was dumb enough to pull out all the stops during a preseason game against the 49'ers.....The media is blowing the whole phone call thing out of proportion as if this game needs any more hype.

Silly non story, it's preseason not to mention a shortened offseason and it's Gregg Williams. There's going to be blitzing, he'd blitz you every single play if it worked.

Oh, it's definitely a story. NO didn't think that showing up SF would have any repercussions because of how bad they've been lately and having a rookie coach with no camp. They DID pull out all the stops and now it could come back to bite them in the ***. You better believe Harbaugh is using that game as motivation this week.

Crabtree is going to need to play well. I thought he quietly had a solid season in a possession type role.

                        Kyle Williams is playing right?

They're going to need his speed.

I was being a tad sarcastic...Obviously they didn't show everything. It doesn't matter anyway both teams still have to stop each other whether they know whats coming or not.

If you seriously think what you saw in preseason was "all the stops" you're going to be blown away Sat.

It's a non-issue and will have little to no bearing this weekend.

The vanilla defenses during the preseason stopped years ago. Teams that blitz heavy pull out blitzes in preseason games... how else would they get their defenses ready for the regular season? If I were a coach I'd welcome a team blitzing in the preseason so my oline can have some footage on how to defend it anyway. The thought of that being disrespectful is like when guerrilla warfare tactics were thought to be disrespectful.
