One year wonder (barely, 1100 yards is only so much to write home about) unhappy with his contract last year and appeared to embrace every little injury he had as a reason to not be on the field... he'll have to earn his way back to a respectable salary after that.

Re: 2012 Free Agency/Offseason Movement Thread
I'm not comparing it all I'm just assuming that's what's going on in the sense that I doubt he plays with that tag.
I want him to get his share believe me, but the Saints don't want to be screwed cap wise and I'm sure Brees himself realizes thatSaints, LSU, Seminoles, Pelicans, Marlins, LightningComment

Bucs could use Mario as #2 let Williams be #1 and Benn #3. They need to sign a WR the offense is growing up together no need to bring a rookie into that mix. The draft will improve their D. As long as they can get claibourne in the draft then move Ronde to SS if he wants to return.Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Yea definitely not that simple. Especially when they still need to address the front 7. They don't NEED a WR right now.Bucs could use Mario as #2 let Williams be #1 and Benn #3. Re: 2012 Free Agency/Offseason Movement Thread
The Ravens have released CB Chris Carr and are also expected to release Dominique Foxworth and WR Lee Evans.
Jets are also interested in going after LB Jarret Johnson and that the Chargers could possibly lose RB Mike Tolbert as well, according to PFT.com.#RespectTheCultureComment

Re: 2012 Free Agency/Offseason Movement Thread
Thanks for everything, Lee.He caught only four passes for 74 yards and no touchdowns during the regular season after being acquired via a trade from the Buffalo Bills in exchange for a fourth-round draft pick.
I didn't think Housh fit with the other WRs already on the team but Evans should've been a slam dunk. Probably the most disappointing signing they've made.
Carr did his job, I hope he finds another landing spot (maybe Detroit?). He's not great but he's very solid. The young guys just pushed him out.Comment

Re: 2012 Free Agency/Offseason Movement Thread
Cutting continues in Pittsburgh, Kemoeatu the latest.
Wondering when Oakland will start making moves, after the franchise tender is signed they'll be at approximately $151m with a week to get to approximately $120m.Comment

Re: 2012 Free Agency/Offseason Movement Thread
This was one of those situations where a player got traded/cut at the right time. Too bad the Bills didn't get more in return.
Oh well....BTW I thought Lee Evans would've at least performed a bit better in Baltimore but he flamed out terribly.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Re: 2012 Free Agency/Offseason Movement Thread
He'll get what he wants soon enough I suppose just may be like Vick where more time is needed, just rather use that tag on Nicks or someone. Too much national media trying to make this into a terrible thing.
Will Smith is restructuring his contract so possibly take off 5-6 million off the cap and that'll go a long way. If we can resign Nicks long term before FA then work on long term for Brees, Loomis would be a geniusSaints GM Wants to Pay Brees Like a "Very Good" QB Not a "Great" QB.
If this is true...

Carl Nicks and Jermon Bushrod have taken to twitter over it too, not good.
I know why Loomis is doing, he wants to save cap but you play those hardball tactics with another guy not Brees. It's a good thin these players play for Payton and Benson could intervene or this could be ugly on the field as wellSaints, LSU, Seminoles, Pelicans, Marlins, LightningComment

Re: 2012 Free Agency/Offseason Movement Thread
It's a good thing there is a Franchise Tag around for ya'll to use it because I can only imagine Brees' reaction when the Saints come up to him and say they want to pay him like he's a "very good" QB.
"Oh, I'm a very good QB. Ok well that's cool because I know at least a few teams that would pay me like I'm a great ****ing QB and would have no problem doing so."#RespectTheCultureComment

Re: 2012 Free Agency/Offseason Movement Thread
My only concern is supposedly they are $5 million a year apart, which I hope means the Saints were offering like 13-14 million. Because if they were offering more and still $5 million apart that's going to suck cap wise.Saints, LSU, Seminoles, Pelicans, Marlins, LightningComment
