Serious question, why? It was an equipment violation...that stated per NFL rules was only punishable by a 50K, max, fine. But personally, if I was the position of Goodell, I would have said to Tom at the appeal hearing we are going to drop it from 4 to 1 game plus a huge fine for not cooperating during the appeal process. In this situation everyone wins. The NFL gets Brady for deflating balls, in the public's eye, and Brady gets the language where he can say that he was NEVER suspended for any on the field stuff only that he didn't turn over his cellphone during a sham of an investigation.

Calling it an equipment violation is something that dude above who said he wants "Goodell murdered" would say

Anyone who educated his or her self on the facts of the case knew this was a very real possibility.

I assume this is more a tongue-in-cheek thing, but this ruling has nothing to do with whether or not the Patriots were guilty of tampering with the balls. They already accepted the punishment for it.

Yeah, this is just a ruling on the arbitration procedure, little to do with the actual incident.

Nope. The penalty handed down to New England did not fit the crime. Not saying the punishment will be reduced, but feel it should.

Goodell should seriously consider removing himself from player discipline and delegating it to someone else. It's just..... not a strength of his.

Berman went and made his own laws, instead of enforcing the law. There are rules in place in the CBA, NFL can do whatever they want per CBA. Unless you get more judges who think they can make whatever decisions they want, this should be overturned.

On this day where Brady will dominate the headlines, let's not forget our daily reminder that Washington is an uncontrollable dumpster fire.

Actual tweet from the wife of Washington's GM to an ESPN reporter:

“Please tell us how many BJ’S you had to give to get this story. And did they laugh at you before or after?”

Its pretty clear the judge did not rule on the case at all, just how the NFL did its procedure:

The NFL didn’t properly inform Brady of the punishment he faced, or even what he was accused of.
The NFL didn’t let Brady’s camp question NFL executive and counsel Jeff Pash at his appeal.
The NFL didn’t give Brady’s side the opportunity to examine the evidence against him.
Calling it an 'equipment violation' is akin to wearing the wrong socks or white shoes. Paying scrubs to cheat the footballs is not that.
