If JJ Watt didn't win MVP last season, no defensive player will.

Re: NFL Off Topic
There have been a handful of defensive ends that had equal to if not better seasons than Watt last year. Nobody ever sniffed the MVP.
QBs just get too much priority in everyone's minds. It is a miracle those few running backs to win it did. Lawrence Taylor is just mind blowing. I dont even know what to call Alan PageComment

Re: NFL Off Topic
I'd like to apply ESPN QB logic to all positions.
Barry Sanders, Walter Peyton and Emmitt Smith are nowhere close to the greatest runningbacks of all time. In fact, Sanders shouldn't even be in the conversation with his inability to lead his team to the playoffs and failures to win when they got their. The guy doesn't even have a ring.
The greatest runningback of all time is clearly Franco Harris with four Superbowl rings.
And Jerry Rice isn't the greatest wide receiver of all time. In fact, he isn't even second. And who can forget that loss to the Bucs in 2002 which crushed his legacy. He had five catches for 77 yards and his only TD came in garbage time.
The greatest receivers of all time are Lynn Swann, John Stallworth and Mike Wilson.

Re: NFL Off Topic
Damn straight. Just being there an not screwing it all up is enough to say they "won" the game. Tom Brady won three Superbowl Championships. There was no defense, or running game in those Championships, it was just Tom Brady throwing all over the field to no-name receivers. It wasn't dink or dunk passes either, it was all streak and fade routes.
Let's not forget Joe Flacco's fantastic postseason last year where he threw a perfect pass against Denver, and even though the defender played it perfectly, it still was completed. I mean, that defense was trash on that Baltimore team. Flacco carried that team through the postseason and Superbowl.
Oh, and who can forget the amazing Superbowl performances by Rob Johnson and Trent Dilfer; just airing the ball out all day long in a magnificent shootout. Those games shouldn't have even been close but those non-existent defenses just couldn't get off the field.
I think the only QB I remember ESPN actually saying was a detriment to their team was Ben Rothlesberger the first time around. Thanks to LBzrules: So these threads won't be forever lost.

Re: NFL Off Topic
Being that large and nimble is impressive.
Maybe he is like Kirby and can eat other athletes to channel their powers? Looks like he ate Russell Wilson with that escapability.
Also, he was a thing while the XFL was a thing. I think the best nickname he ever got was "He Ate Me".YNWAComment
