Re: NFL Off Topic
In terms of the Lorenzen nicknames, "Round Mound of Touchdown" was far and away my favorite, though "Pillsbury Throwboy" is good as well.
I can't stand Aikman and Buck, for my money Nantz and Simms is the superior duo, though neither is other-worldly. In terms of production, though, I prefer Fox's coverage as a whole to CBS's... don't know why, but the CBS coverage always seems super bright and it feels more like I'm watching golf than football.MLB: Minnesota Twins

Re: NFL Off Topic
Since Fox and CBS seem to be the only debate people are having, I would like to point out that ABC, NBC, and Turner all bid too.Originally posted by BlueNGoldI feel weird for liking a post about exposed penises.Comment

Anyone but Turner. How their NBA coverage can be top notch, yet make MLB playoff games border on unwatchable is impressive.Comment

Re: NFL Off Topic
That's my first thought especially if the game itself isn't any great shakes.
I don't think Aikman is as dumb as you make him out to be. I just think his style of analysis while good, is probably a bit more suited to the studio than in the booth. There are times where he has lapses of memory and repeats things which is to be expected considering how many concussions he's had over the years. I think Steve Young is a very good analyst when he gets the chance but put him in the booth and he'd have the same kind of issues IMO.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Re: NFL Off Topic
I generally feel like none of the NFL broadcasting crews are well-liked.
My "favorite" of the bunch is probably Michaels/Collinsworth on NBC, but Michaels is too opinionated for an announcer IMO and Collingsworth's voice grates on me, but Michaels is obviously a legend in the business and Collingsworth isn't afraid to criticize anyone, which is the one thing I like about him.I write things on the Internet.

Re: NFL Off Topic
I'd prefer they scrap Thursday Night Football altogether, but I'm cool with it being on CBS. Games on the NFL Network feel like exhibition games with their presentation, like they're "tucked away" or something.
Thursday games should be after Thanksgiving. I like the addition of a couple Saturday games though. Feels like we haven't had those in a few seasons.
Maybe we'll get some better matchups now but I don't think Thursday games will ever have a high quality of play.Comment

Edit..
Just noticed the comment about Saturday games. There is no way the NFL would want to try to compete with the NCAA for viewership on Saturdays. NFL games on Saturdays are a terrible idea.Comment
