    Just an idea, tho.
That I will never agree with.

It would probably work for the late slot but with the early slot you would have people discussing maybe the two prominent games which in and of itself would be confusing and then you would have those watching their game that no one else is talking about. They would have no desire to even make a post since it would disappear quickly.

As much as Twitter has killed our game threads, that would just kill discussion quicker.

I would be more in favor of a year long "other games" thread for games that don't have their own thread but I just don't see why that shouldn't go into this thread since it's already just a continuous ongoing thread. Would seem a little redundant to me.

That's what I was getting at with my last post. Our mods are great, just like NFL officials are great (for the most part), but post qualification interpretations are as much in the air as NFL replay interpretations between Mike Pereira and the on field officials.

I have to ask what you mean about redundancy, if we're separating OT from a weekly thread, what's redundant? Unless you mean the threads themselves (ugh I feel bad typing that word) would essentially be the same thing. Does anyone else feel like weekly "other games discussion" would get more traffic than in-game posts made in OT?

Why would you be more in favor of a year long "other games" thread than a weekly one? Just curious

I'm not in favor of any of that. Tonight was the first I heard of it being an issue. This isn't college where there are 50 games played a week. A weekly thread would get nothing, it would have to be an ongoing thread throughout the year since there would be no reason to create a new thread for the same thing each week.

My preference would just be to have off games that people want to talk about in the last two minutes of the game (which is the only time it happens) stay in the OT forum.

It would be reduntant to me to have an OT thread and an additional thread for the few games that don't have their own thread.

As I mentioned in a previous post. The exact definition of off topic is a discussion that doesn't have it's own thread.

Is there anything that the OT thread is used for on Sunday's than actual football discussion anyway?

Again though, these are my thoughts as a poster. Not a moderator. I'm all about what everyone prefers. I just didn't know this was an issue until tonight.

The thing is, wwhartons comment was due in part to someone posting out of context have thread stuff in this one ... and there was a game thread for it.

There was also quite a bit of talk from the Broncos/Browns game.

I don't want to do it but I'll just volunteer to make sure there is a thread for each game on Sundays. Problem solved.

I thought it all stemmed from the Browns Broncos comment regarding the catch by a Broncos receiver.

My bad if I missed a directive from someone lol but I don't understand why there would have been.
Sorry I didn't hop in this discussion earlier since I created all the confusion.

Mestevo explained the main issue. Also, other than the night games (TNF, SNF, MNF) it can be pretty random which game thread will get traction. Sometimes it's a rivalry game, sometimes it's just the network game of the week, and sometimes it's a game that is becoming surprisingly good... or has some strange events that spark discussion.

It makes more sense to me to have a place for that to happen (or not), rather than a single game ending up taking over the OT thread which gets plenty of traction this time of year anyway.

It's funny, I remember how hard we had to work to get people to limit the number of threads they create, and now there's a long discussion bc people don't want to create new threads. Either way, I also stated it'd be worth discussing and that's just what we're doing now. My snappy response wasn't about the idea, it was about acting like an *** with the thought of the idea.

I'm just going to make sure there is a thread for every game. Didn't know it was such a big deal to some to have one offs discussed in here especially considering the fact that if you go into this thread and look back you will see there's no posts at all until some game discussion. It's not like it was cluttering anything up.

I was going to say I have no problem making threads for each game and if people want to post in there cool and if not then cool.

Not like it takes a lot of work to make a thread, lol.

                          LOVE the Carolina remake.

Philly looks like one of the old XFL teams.

The Detriot and Arizona/Phoenix jerseys I kinda like, personally.

I hate the idea of a Merged season/week thread. Main reason I stopped going to the other sport forums, too hard to follow and discuss your game/game your watching with tons of other posts about other games. Not to mention when someone does make a post about the game your watching the chances of you seeing it are slim due to the other posts.

As for the twitter thing, not sure what but I can never find a discussion about a game on there wither. I really, really, really miss the old days of everyone posting on the forums about games.
