Re: NFL Off Topic
I keep hearing this, but what were his postseason statistics in those 2 SB runs?
He may be a weird case in the regular season alternating between really good and WTF? Bad but I imagine the Giants wouldn't have been able to make that run, even with the defense that got its act together, without Eli stepping up his game too to at least "good" levels.
I give you credit for even responding to that post.Comment

Oh the hypocrisy...Really Jim you won't spend a second on a story about PED use but you will gladly bring up deflated footballs. Good to know. Also CNN is reporting there is another source that claims Peyton has taken HGH.Attached FilesComment

Well to be fair, at that point there was no 2nd "source" for the Manning story whereas there was all kinds of sources plus actual on site speculation when it came to deflategate. That being said, a cursory "This week Manning was accused of taking PEDs" statement would've been ok IMO.

Re: NFL Off Topic
In regards to what CMHooe brought up earlier, I always have a discussion with my cousin about this. He's a Giants fan and obviously thrilled with the two SBs. Since the start of the 2007 season, the Giants have two SB wins and Patriots one with three appearances, and far better results in the other seasons.
Would you rather have a consistently good team? Packers, Patriots, for the most part the Ravens the last few years, or the Giants who go on a run ever so often?
Now, I never got to see a Cowboys SB that meant something to me, but I think I'd lean towards consistently good/great seasons with a chance in the playoffs every year over the alternative even if meant one year winning it all. Although, that may change if Dallas ever wins it on a fluke year.Comment

I'd rather be in the running consistently than praying for a more than unlikely, out of nowhere, miracle homerun season.
I am aware that the Giants exemplify the latter better than any other.Comment

Was even surprised to see folks gloss over the fact that Clay Matthews' name was mentioned in those same reports. Honestly, I thought it was only a matter of time before his name got linked to HGH.#RespectTheCultureComment

It is kinda strange that it did get swept under the rug real quick.

Speaking of which...
What ever came out of Ray Lewis and the deer antler spray? Was it because he retired after the SB, everybody just forgot/didn't care?Originally posted by Gibson88Anyone who asked for an ETA is not being Master of their Domain.

Re: NFL Off Topic
Shows the kind of stroke Peyton Manning has with the NFL media. Reporters and sports outlets are worried Papa Bear will cut off access if they press the issue.
I don't even care if he did take HGH to help recover after multiple neck surgeries. What I do care about is the dismissive nature the sports media has taken. ESPN allowed Mike Ditka to basically call Al Jazeera America nothing more than a propaganda media outlet on Sunday NFL Countdown. The entire roundtable was embarrassingly shameful. Was surprised none of the idiots on the show dropped a "those people", though the whole thing stunk of that even without saying anyone saying it.Comment

Hell, you could just replace Manning's name with anyone else in the NFL. I bet there's a huge majority that takes some shady stuff for recuperative purposes or for "other" means as well.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Re: NFL Off Topic
Yea areobee that's what I was getting at. I completely understand if he had to take HGH while he wasn't playing. But the media coverage of the event is a sham and a joke honestly. Look at all these past issues and the coverage they got. Including Deflategate, Greg Hardy, Ray Rice, all the **** Manziel has done, Riley Cooper a couple of years ago, etc. and some how this is one of the stories that gets swept under the rug. Literally the only other type of story I can think of that gets swept under the rug like this is concussion/cte related stuff.Comment

Riley Cooper is a bad example there, but I see where you're getting at.#RespectTheCultureComment
