I didn't know this til recently but Alex Karras is suffering from dementia and has been reportedly suffering from it for 7 years now. He's another one of he oldtimers suing the league over concussions and not taking care of the players.

Most of you would know him best as the father on WEBSTER.

Kicked out fans have to take conduct test to re-enter stadium

The next time a fan is kicked out of an NFL stadium for being unruly, he or she will have to take a $75 four-hour online class and pass a code-of-conduct test for readmittance.

"We're not trying to squash anyone's passion. We're just trying to say don't be violent," Dr. Ari Novick, a licensed psychotherapist who developed the idea, told the New York Post.

Stadium requirements will vary across the league, but most of the time, a booted fan will be required to pass the conduct test, Novick said.

Just imagine if the 49ers/Raiders preseason game was actually happening this year.

New York Jets cornerback Antonio Cromartie, 28, recently had his second child with wife Terricka, making it 10 kids from eight women in six states.

I can't even imagine the child support. I've seen guys go broke with far less children than Cromartie. He's gonna need to play for the next 18 years lol. Dude needs to invest in some rubbers, a vasectomy, and/or some will power.

                    Re: NFL Off Topic 2012

We routinely write about NFL players who go bankrupt after making tens of millions of dollars in their NFL careers, men who made a fortune in their 20s and 30s and blew it all quickly. Lions receiver Calvin Johnson, who just signed the biggest contract in the history of the league, has a simple plan for avoiding that trap.
Johnson said on SportsCenter today that his plan consists of two elements: His family gets taken care of. All the hangers-on, self-promoting financial advisers and others who ask for his money get told no.
“Sometimes the hardest thing is saying no, but definitely have to take care of my family,” Johnson said.
As soon as the headlines saying Johnson got a seven-year, $132 million contract with $60 million guaranteed started coming, the calls started pouring in from people who wanted a piece of it. Johnson responded by changing his number.
“My phone blows up all the time. I had to change my number,” Johnson said.
Johnson says he’s not allowing the money to change the fact that his primary focus is on winning football games.
“I don’t think things have changed for me,” Johnson said. “Yes, I got a big contract, but my focus is still the same.”
If it was me, I'd go the T-Mac route with my money. Give everybody that I know has been there with me since Day 1 a set amount of money and make sure they make it last because if they blow all of it, then they wouldn't be getting another dime back from me.

Like last few years, I have NO INTENTIONS on watching the draft on ESPN. I would switch over and they would barely talk about all the plaers being drafted. NFLN does a good job at least trying to have info on all the players and trying to discuss every pick.

NFL-N is the way to go as Mike Mayock puts Mel Kiper to shame.

I'm surprised that ESPN hasn't tried to poach Mike Lombardi to be one of their draft guys as he used to work in an NFL front office (I believe San Fran back in their glory years)

                            Exactly.
I always like seeing games with Mayock commentating. Plus his draft analysis is TOP NOTCH.
Off-topic, if he were to be on Madden as a commentator that would see me alone.

We should probably start an official draft thread... but something I know won't change, but I just wish one of these networks would stop throwing a camera on every freaking player that gets a phone call. I wouldn't even care if it were obvious to the analysts who was about to be picked and they started talking the player up as to why he COULD be a good selection. I hate that we pretty much know who's about to be drafted 30 seconds or so before it actually happens.

I think I saw something today where ESPN said they won't show the player on the phone this year. I could be wrong though, I was just glancing through things between classes.
