Is it possible the Cowboys offensive line just sucks and has to hold to compensate?

Per the site you linked Dallas is the 23 least penalized team. Huge conspiracy you got going here....

Edit: By the way, their net count of penalties on the year is -4 in case you were wondering which is far from a staggering number compared to other teams.

      1. That's a definite possibility, but it doesn't explain why the opponents aren't getting called for off. holding.
      2. Not all penalties are created equal. Off holding is among the worst because it's a drive killer.

Here you go (and this is with an extra game over most):

They are far from being persecuted against:

All offensive holding penalties that happened in the 2017 season, viewed by teams.

By Game - Beneficiary 61 penalties for 472 yards

By Game - Against 65 penalties for 624 yards

How much of that yardage differential is due to flags not thrown against opposing OL's? Who can say?

Really not interested in getting into much of a debate about a fake witch hunt. I've shown you the same numbers you've seen. If it makes you feel better about the Cowboys struggles, have at it.

It's easier to blame the officials than the play on the field I suppose. Not the first time I've seen that here at OS.

Is it possible the Cowboys Front 7 sucks, and other O-lines don't need to hold them to block them?

No one is offering this as the cause for the Cowboys woes. The combination of injuries/suspensions and a 1st place schedule have been the primary culprits. Having said that, anyone who can't see that this has been a factor is just flat wrong.

22nd in the league in net penalties at -4 but 30th in net yards at -152 would seem to vindicate my statement that "all penalties aren't created equal". If you can't see that, I can't help you.

Dallas comes into the weekend tied for 10th in the league in sacks; DE DeMarcus Lawrence is tied for 2nd w/11.5.

                  Next?

... nobody disputed that. You seem to be creating both sides of an argument yourself.

In a year where ratings and revenue are reportedly down the most sensible course of action was for the NFL to hold down it's most valuable and globally recognizable franchise.

                        Makes sense to me.

I agree. This may well just be a fluke, or there may be a legitimate reason for this that I'm not seeing. But given the sheer amount of Jerry vs the league drama we've seen this season, it's makes you wonder...

Do you seriously believe that the League has it out for the Cowboys and will do anything in it's power to hold them back from being any good?

Good luck with your fight, I hope that at the end of the day you feel vindicated by trying to fight the good fight to try and prove that the Cowboys line couldn't possibly be as bad as the officials calls would show.
