First Tyrod Taylor and now this. Damn.

        No way.

My best guess would be in Jacksonville.

I know the job of HC isn't easy but we can acknowledge that and still be critical when they look clueless.
Regardless of who looked better when, pulling your starter in the first game of the regular season is never a good look, so on that O'Brien looked clueless.

But on the broader topic of him ever thinking Savage was the better option than Watson I'm willing to give him a pass.

Eli has completed 57% of his passes in games without Beckham. Take out the Niners game and that goes down to 52.5%. The only thing he's improved on since that game is lowering the amount of interceptions. Not saying he's the only cause for their woes, but he's not helping. Being the best of a bunch of bad players doesn't make you good. Might as well see what you got, because he's likely not in New York's future plans regardless of what happens to McAdoo and Reese. It's absolutely the right call to bench him in this case. I'd still go with Webb though.

I believe that Tyrod Taylor would be a target for Arizona, contingent on him being a free agent after this year of course.

I don't think Eli is completely the problem in NY but it's a combination of some decline, tons of injuries to the skill players and a coach who is clearly in over his head. (Ray Handley 2.0 anyone?) This is definitely not the way Eli would want his career with the Giants to end but sometimes you can't get a happy ending.

It's even money that he goes to Denver or JAX and I'd probably lean toward JAX simply because of the Coughlin factor and an offense that would fit his game more.

What the top WR said publicly (whether we should put any stock in public depth chart talk made by a player is up for debate) does nothing to absolve O’Brien of the choice made at QB and how things unfolded from there. One is paid to evaluate talent, while the other for catching passes.

What about Eli to Cleveland with his brother as part of the ownership group. [emoji16][emoji6]

I give BOB a bit of a pass because I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt that he probably didn't want to start a rookie on opening day. I'm guessing he wanted to bring him along at a slower pace but Savage was so awful he had to speed it up. I seriously doubt that BOB thought Savage would be the guy all year. Most everyone here in Houston believed Watson would be starting before midseason.

Well said. I was surprised to see so many guys mad that Eli got benched, but this is one of those classic “it’s a business” moves. But somehow they bungled it by going to Geno and not the young QB Webb. They’re clearly half in on this rebuild thing they got going on.

Anyway, I like that prediction of Denver as his next landing spot. Let me throw out a wild one: he stays in New York. The owners fire the **** out of McAdoo and probssibly Reese, make amends with Eli and go all in on a Super Bowl run spending money they probably don’t have on free agents. Does it work? Hell no but it was a heck of a run...

Does anyone else find it shady that suspensions are handed down with the apparent intent to reduce them upon appeal?

Well, they’re being handled by Independent Review with people being paid by the league and the players as well.

It’s certainly better than the alternative in letting Goodell handle these as well, especially with the awesome job he’s been doing in that regard.

The Pontiac Silverdome is finally coming down this Sunday.

After more than 40 years, the Pontiac Silverdome near Detroit will be imploded on Sunday morning, Dec. 3, bringing an end to the stadium which has been lifeless for more than a decade.
