LAS VEGAS—Denver Broncos safety Quinton Carter is facing felony charges following his arrest last weekend on allegations that he cheated at a Las Vegas casino craps game.

Carter was arrested late Saturday at the Palace Station after officials reported he added money to his bets after the dice had already rolled.
Carter was charged with three counts of fraudulent act in a gaming establishment. Each charge carries a possible six-year prison sentence.

Carter is 24. He was booked and released at the Clark County jail in Las Vegas. It's not immediately clear if he has a lawyer.

Carter also faces a warrant charge of failure to complete counseling after pleading guilty in a 2011 misdemeanor marijuana possession case.
A Broncos spokesman says the team is looking into the matter.
And he's not a tourist either, just saw he grew up in North Las Vegas

Seems reasonable to me. Also it wasn't one bet, he added a $5 bet to 3. He also had a warrant out for not completing counseling from an earlier pot conviction. This guys a real winner.

Donte Stallworth is in stable condition at the hospital after the hot air balloon he and his girlfriend were in hit powerlines.

That'd be a pretty ****ty way to go.

Where was this? There was a hot air balloon that went down in Jamaica not too long ago... a bunch of people died.

Staying away from cruises and hot air balloons... what's next?

Wwharton, what's the deal with this?

The Ravens might not be able to celebrate their Super Bowl title with the new-traditional Thursday home opener, because of baseball and religious holidays.

O's have a night game scheduled can't have both teams playing at night. (They share parking in the city) Wednesday is out because of a jewish holiday. Don't see why Friday is a no go.

IMO that's half right, the other half is that Welker is actually really good at what he can do with his particular set of skills (which I think you and I would agree on, not so much the original poster to whom you were responding).

Welker isn't going to beat anyone over the top like Mike Wallace or Julio Jones, he isn't going to physically overwhelm the opposition like Calvin Johnson, he doesn't have the hands and completeness-of-craft possessed by Larry Fitzgerald. What he does have is incredible quickness, a great feel for and understanding coverages, toughness and fearlessness, and (at least in New England) an uncanny ability to be on the same page and to have synchronized timing as his quarterback. He didn't accrue five 100-catch seasons by accident, or only because Tom Brady was throwing him the ball; Welker had to get open first before Brady threw him any of those passes.

Wes Welker made his living within seven yards of the line of scrimmage consistently getting open for Tom Brady and he'll continue to do just that with Peyton Manning in Denver. That said, I also think the Patriots will be just fine with Danny Amendola taking Welker's old spot, so long as Amendola can stay healthy.

People are giving the O's (Angelos) a lot of heat but this is out of their hands. This is an MLB issue bc, at the very least, the White Sox would have to agree to playing the game earlier (both teams play away the night before). At best, the games before would be scheduled earlier as well, meaning you also have to get the Yankees and Indians to agree to change their schedules... and finally the players union would have to approve a time change of more than 30 minutes. That doesn't even consider it'd be to do the NFL a favor.

With all that said, I really, really hope it happens. It'd be horrible if the Ravens had to open the season on the road bc of this bs... and a nightmare if both games go on at the same time.

Read Option is Flavor of the Month, according to Mike Tomlin:

"I think the read-option is the flavor of the month," the Pittsburgh Steelers coach said during a Tuesday breakfast media session for AFC coaches at the NFL owners' meetings. "We'll see whether it's the flavor of the year. A few years ago, people were talking wildly about the Wildcat. It's less of a discussion now.
"I think there are coaches in rooms preparing themselves to defend it, there are coaches in rooms also preparing to run it. I think it's going to sort out on the grass."

Although the read-option schemes are used to varying degrees, the mere threat and attached play-fakes threw defenses for a loop. Even so, Tomlin says the physical risk to quarterbacks may ultimately dictate whether the scheme survives in the NFL for the long haul.
"I always take a skeptical approach," he said. "We'll see if guys are committed to getting their guys hit, because when you run the read-option, obviously they are runners and there's something that's associated with that."
