Re: NFL Off Topic
There's a balance to drafting by needs vs BPA.
I don't think those that advocate BPA are saying go into the draft without considering needs. Like someone else mentioned, its more about staying true to your board.
BPA is picking based on your draft board. Teams probably don't spend as much time scouting for positions outside of need, so there may not be a lot of non-need guys high up on the board.
If there is a WR you want at 15th because he grades well and fills a need, but then gets picked at 13th don't just grab another WR because it fills a need. You take the next highest person on your board, trading down if necessary.
It depends on the roster construction and positions of value. Some positions you can stack up on and other positions It doesn't make sense to depending on depth. Unless you have depth on at a position, you can stack up on some positions.
You hear critics knock drafts because teams don't fill needs. It seems like they expect teams to scout base on a team needs list and draft positions based on needs. Like you said, just because the WR you wanted gets taken a couple spots ahead, you don't draft the next WR who you have 10 spots below the CB you have higher just because you need that WR.
The goal is that you fill that need in Free Agency, so that you are not in a situation where you HAVE to draft that position early. Like the Eagles, we didn't sign a CB and didn't draft one in the first 3 rounds. I expect us to sign someone Iike Steven Nelson or trade for a VetComment

@KaplanSportsBiz
Amazon Prime will pick up Thursday Night Football a year early, starting in 2022 instead of 2023. That means Fox and NFL Net have only one more season sharing TNF with Amazon. The change will mean a few hundred million to the NFL's bottom line next yearComment

“Pittsburgh bar” is the Florida Man of locations. Only bad things!NHL - Philadelphia Flyers
NFL - Buffalo Bills
MLB - Cincinnati Reds

Although I have Amazon Prime and even I don't care to watch games on streaming services.
Sports exclusively on streaming services is a bad idea imo. Having a partnership is fine because not everyone has cable, but forcing those who have cable to consume games by streaming it to their TV through an app is annoying.Comment

I hope that deal doesn't impact games airing in Canada.

I want to know what happens to bars/restaurants when exclusive streaming comes.
It’s a huge part of their revenue/attraction.Comment

There would probably need to be some sort of change, I think you can only use one account on a certain number of devices. A big sports bar would need multiple accountsComment

Re: NFL Off Topic
I expect there are some commercial solutions for this that we're just not familiar with.
Unrelated, here's the other side of the coin of the 'we want more virtual training / don't want to report to teams so early' movement:
@AdamSchefter
Broncos' OT Ja'Wuan James suffered a season-ending torn Achilles working out today away from the team facility, per sources. James' $10 million salary for the upcoming season now is in jeopardy being that Denver no longer is obligated to pay him with him working out off site.Comment

I do feel bad to a degree though, he was working out at the Broncos facility earlier in the off season and only went off site because of the union's stance.Comment
