Is Richard Sherman the most overrated cornerback of our generation? I would say so fairly easily. No guy had the back of his defense cover up his mistakes more often than Sherman (especially Kam Chancellor, the REAL hero of that defense). And we all know zone cornerbacks are nowhere near as good as man cornerbacks

Depends on how you judge CBs.

I used to always judge them on INTs but that was a flawed way of doing that because most of those require just being in the right place at the right time.

But to answer your question, I would say no but would also have to think about all the CBs I’ve seen play over the last 25 years I’ve been watching and actually paying attention(Been watching for 30 but the first 5 years, I wasn’t paying attention to who was making the bigger impact, but moreso if my team won or not, lol)

Nnamdi Asomugha comes to mind when he came over to Philly. He went from THE top lockdown CB to out of Philly in 2 years, though some of that was due to the contract situation.

Can probably scan a list of top FA salaries paid to CB’s and you’ll find a few guys who cashed in on good play on a better team utilizing a better scheme fit who flamed out when they left.

Sherman might have been overrated because he played with other good to great DB’s who helped cover for him (or allowed him to be more aggressive), but he was still really good at what he did.

Kam Chancellor might be the last of a dying breed of safeties who hit guys regularly like a freight train. There’s great safeties now, but it’s generally a different type of player then how Kam played. Shame the game took a toll on his body the way it did.

Cam usually played down low which really wouldn't cover any mistakes Sherm made as a deep 3rd. And your zone CB take..... along with most your other takes..... is trash.

I know they still use decals but this one just highlights that because the black on the logo and helmet look the same but then you have a difference in the reflectivity. Maybe it will look better on the field but it looks like you could just peel all the decals off easily because the edge is so harsh.

I forgot about that guy...he went from heralded to just thought of as trash almost immediately.

might as well throw Deion into that group, spectacular lockdown man corner, ballhawk, whatever buzzword you wanna use, but terrified of tackling

I actually think of Ted Ginn, JR, and being an elite speed guy who had a really solid career being that guy who stretched the field and then ran out of bounds to avoid contact

Like, what would happen if Deion and TGJ faced each other in the Oklahoma drill?

I see some complaining about a chunk of teams using black alternate helmets. I get that, but teams had to work with the uniforms they had for the year. Alternate jerseys have to be approved a year out in advance. Like the Eagles wearing the Kelly Green jerseys 2023-24. So teams had limited options. Either match the alternate jersey, go white for away, or match primary jersey if current helmet didn't already.

Would have better off not showing off black helmet with a black background, especially if you want to show off that's it not all black
