Re: NFL Off Topic
Apparently Wilson is tearing it up in practice.

Maybe, he'll surprise everyone? who knows, at this point it's "wait and see"People are for reviews if it backs their argument, and against them when they don't.“I believe the game is designed to reward the ones who hit the hardest – If you can’t take it, you shouldn’t play!” Jack Lambert“Quarterbacks should wear dresses.” Jack LambertComment

Re: NFL Off Topic
I came back here to read more about how terrible Russell Wilson is and how stupid Mike Tomlin is, but everybody left.

Hha, this crow tastes pretty good!
Jury’s still out, but good signs last night. Hard to argue with 37 points.NHL - Philadelphia Flyers
NFL - Buffalo Bills
MLB - Cincinnati Reds

Re: NFL Off Topic
I mean. Russell Wilson is the same dude he always was as an NFL passer. Throws a catchable rainbow of deep ball but can't / doesn't work the middle of the field. He's not as mobile as he used to be, but he's still got a decade of NFL experience; he's seen everything. An offense built around his strengths can still win some games, but at this point in the evolution of NFL defenses his style is likely a more high-variance style of play than it used to be.
His game last night probably looks much different without those circus catches by George Pickens. At the same time, winning 50-50 balls is George Pickens' best skill thus far in his NFL career, and Russ has a well-established reputation throwing deep, so the Steelers would be wise to continue giving those two plenty of chances to strike downfield.
I do think Wilson gives the Steelers the better chance to win games compared to Justin Fields. That's going to be very important starting next month, as the Steelers somehow have yet to play any AFC North divisional games and won't until the week before Thanksgiving. I don't think anything is resolved in that division just yet.
This isn't meant to be a pessimistic post; rather, I'm still in wait-and-see mode.Last edited by Hooe; 10-21-2024, 03:15 PM.Comment

Re: NFL Off Topic
This is exactly where I'm at, I knew if Wilson had a good game this would be the outcome...it's only 1 game...obviously I'm glad they won, but I felt these next 2 games before the bye (Jets, Giants) were very winnable games.People are for reviews if it backs their argument, and against them when they don't.“I believe the game is designed to reward the ones who hit the hardest – If you can’t take it, you shouldn’t play!” Jack Lambert“Quarterbacks should wear dresses.” Jack LambertComment

This is the more in-depth I was wondering about. He still can’t and won’t throw to a whole major section of the field and that has been far and away my major gripe against inserting him in to the lineup. That will be keyed on as more games pile up. Will Wilson adjust? Arthur Smith? Mike Tomlin? Just as they needed a little more from Fields, we’ll need to see more from the offense and Wilson as other teams catch on.
He did used to drop them in to Seattle’s WR’s for a time there and probably never had the jump-ball, 50/50 circus catch athlete that Pickens is. He’s going to give those guys a shot because he has nothing to lose at 35 years old or whatever. Fields probably holds that back, if he even has it in his game. Hard to say if those few shots are game are worth it, but we’re going to find out. It’s been a fascinating observation so far.NHL - Philadelphia Flyers
NFL - Buffalo Bills
MLB - Cincinnati Reds

Whomever is giving advice to Tua...
Dude should not be playing. There is concrete factual evidence what these numerous concussions can abd will do to your brain and your body. This game is not worth your life, bro.Originally posted by Gibson88Anyone who asked for an ETA is not being Master of their Domain.
It's hard though...especially when I got my neighbor playing their franchise across the street...maybe I will occupy myself with Glamore Magazine.Comment

Re: NFL Off Topic
so, I've never heard of CPOE...
looked it up, according to CPOE Malik Willis is the third best QB in the NFL (Jordan Love 35th), and Will Levis is #7, we can pick and choose all the stats we want, but this metric ranks Skyler Thompson above CJ Stroud, and Justin Fields ahead of Lamar Jackson, do these numbers actually mean anything?Last edited by l3ulvl; 10-22-2024, 02:05 AM.Wolverines Wings Same Old Lions Tigers Pistons Erika ChristensenComment

According to QBR...
There's a risk of beating a dead horse when you talk about QBR, ESPN's proprietary statistic that was rolled out with great fanfare four years ago as the “one stat that measures the totality of a quarterback’s performance.”

Re: NFL Off Topic
Ref needs to throw the flag for targeting here.
Why yall looking at that post and just carving out CPOE? I have no idea what it is either, but I don't need to because the passing chart and Hooe's statements are the main course here.
For whatever reason when it comes to advanced stats for NFL QBs we all know we have yet to find one that is really worth a damn. Other sports we can argue about which is better but for whatever reason here the argument is "are there any that are not worthless?"Comment
