    I don't think so.

Thank God they went with the 20 instead of the 25. 37-38 YD FG instead of a 42-43 YD FG seems more reasonable. You break that 40 yard line and stuff gets crazy.

What happens if there's a holding penalty, pushing it back to the 30 for a 47-yard PAT? Can you switch to a 2-point conversion try and move the ball up to the 12?

I am surprised they dont just take out the extra point, make TD's 7 points unless you want to go for 2. If that is the case than a TD is worth 6 with a chance for 8.

IMO no since they were going to attempt a XP anyway. Now they could decide to do a 2pt conversion from the 30 however.

This scenario is a good reason I don't like it. Either way, it makes things more complicated than they need to be.

But by that logic, you could line up for a 2-point conversion at the 2, false start and then kick the PAT from the 7.

I'd rather, if they have to change it, just make a TD 7 points with the option to "gamble" a point for a 2-point conversion.

There doesn't need to be logic, though. It just needs to account for these scenarios in the rulebook. Any penalty should be assessed to the ball placement marker, whether you originally lined up for the XP or 2. I like the idea of instead of now a 47 FG after a penalty, go for the 2.

I actually like the spin this is putting on decision making. It's exciting. There's no going back at this point I feel, so I'm embracing the positives and fun that can come of this.

I don't get the all or nothing objections at all.

What I don't get is why they won't add the extra cameras that Bill requested.

Part of his proposal was to add them to practice facilities for every team and send those feeds back to Patriots HQ.

I agree, moving the LOS based on what the team wants to do makes no sense to me.

For those that think any call should be reviewable, most Coaches don't want it:

                            Per PFT.com
Patriots coach Bill Belichick brought forward a proposal at this week’s league meeting to allow coaches to challenge any call that they think instant replay could correct. But the NFL’s owners voted the proposal down.
And it’s not only the NFL’s coaches who opposed the proposal. According to Rams head coach Jeff Fisher, co-chair of the competition committee, most coaches don’t want that responsibility.
“The support among the coaches was less than 50 percent,” Fisher said.
Fisher said there is support, however, for altering the way replay works in the NFL.
“We are going to take a look at replay,” Fisher said. “We have to look at our entire system. With technology changing and the fact that the membership agreed to allow [the NFL officiating department] to oversee and consult with officials this year is a major step. We are constantly evaluating our replay system because we all want to get things right.”
Belichick believes that one way to get things right is to give coaches the opportunity to request another look on replay. But the majority of coaches believe that’s just one more thing they have to worry about, and they’d rather not constantly be thinking about whether to challenge the previous play.

I can't comprehend this. Of course some NFL coaches also need a card to tell them when to go for the two point conversion....I don't get that either.
