The Sideline Viewing System is meant to help coaches and players study their opponents in realtime from the sideline, which has traditionally been done with old school, black-and-white photos.

Each team will have 13 Surface tablets on the sideline and 12 in the coaches’ box, according to SFGate.

These tablets will be owned and operated by the National Football League and run on a closed wireless network, as well as locked in a temperature-controlled cart in between games to ensure no one is tampering or cheating with the data on the tablets.

Plus, the Surface tablets will have no access to the internet, nor will they have the ability to play video.

The Surface Sideline Viewing System will not only allow for faster relay of photographs to players and coaches, but will also allow them to enlarge those photos, draw on them to show plays, etc.

Players and coaches won’t be required to use the technology, so the traditional Polaroid photo option will still be available to the ultra superstitious or tech-averse.

The internet. My plan is to have the Vikes on laptop and the TV on whatever is locally broadcast.

David Wilson has been advised to never play football again after tweaking his neck again. This blows. I wish him luck in his next venture. I know hes gonna try to make a comeback, but the Giants cant take any part in that for his own sake.

Yeah as soon as I saw "neck burner" I knew it was eventually gonna turn to this.

Sucks that his career appears to be over after only a couple short years. While he never panned out to his potential, he certainly showed it and it's a shame we'll probably never know.

He'll retire if he's smart. As a RB with a neck ailment, it seems like suicide to continue to test it.

I'm putting this here because it might amuse the longest-tenured members of this forum:

On this day ten years ago, the Dallas Cowboys released quarterback Quincy Carter.

David is one of the most athletically gifted guys I have ever seen in my life. He is also a very good guy and I have been lucky to meet him. I wish him the best and I am sure he will turn this negative situation into a positive.

                      Good luck #4.

How many promising Virginia Tech running backs have turned into nothing due to injury? And do we count Ryan Williams on that list (yet)?
