Unless she's coming at you with a gun or a weapon, you don't hit a woman. What sort of message does it send with this light sentence (relatively speaking)?
My post was pretty damn confusing if I say so myself. But ubernoob explained what I meant much better and more efficiently than I did...

That's the proper way to do it, for first time offenses at least. Blame the courts and all parties involved (Rice, her and the Ravens) if you want something harsher than what he got.

As for Gordon, Blackmon and such... They repeatedly violated policies. It's their own damn fault for being nothing short of miraculously stupid.
Quoted bc it's exactly what I was trying to say.

Goodell set himself up as a moral arbiter when he put the PC policy in place. It basically says that anything that damages 'the shield' as it were can lead to you getting punished. Dragging a woman unconscious from an elevator and presumably being the one that caused her to be unconscious doesn't 'damage the shield' enough to warrant more than 2 games?
The Pryor situation is completely different also (seriously, trying to compare different situations will never work... not even related to sports, it doesn't work in general and it shouldn't). I personally think the NFL overstepped their bounds with this one. Pryor got in trouble with the NCAA and tried to escape it by going to the NFL. That should be his right, and it's the right of every coach. But as mentioned, the NFL just upheld the NCAA ruling.

I would expect him to get suspended since he was convicted of a crime.

I thought I was the only one thinking this. Since when has the league not been moral arbiter?

Not to be outdone by the Ravens, Steelers center Maurkice Pouncey has had a lawsuit filed against him for allegedly knocking out a woman in a Miami night club. Of course, where Maurkice is, Mike isn't too far behind. It should be noted that charges have yet to be filed.

                    LOL@Roger and company

Rice slaps wife-to-be senseless and gets 2

He's suspended others for more based on accusations.

This was his chance to show that the league will not tolerate any domestic violence by it's members, and he failed miserably.

Three times. Lest we not forget, Geno Smith is also a top 5 QB. Rex is doing an amazing job.

To be fair to Geno, didn't he say he sees himself being a top 5 QB at some point, not that he is right now?

                            Dee is just dumb.

Dumb, or the best cornerback in the league? Only time will tell.
