Yeah, playing on a franchise with that much national relevance and historical success with management, stability, arguably the best quarterback in the league and all the talent in the world for a city and state that worships the ground you walk on seems like a really bad gig.

I don't think you're understanding just how much it sucks living in Wisconsin.

If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)

Seems pretty good to me, especially if I'm making enough money to have as many houses as I wanted so that I could live wherever I wanted for at least six months of the year and was spending half the weeks I work outside Wisconsin anyway.

But hey, maybe someone would find a place with a crappier organization with way less talent and fickle fans who wouldn't even fill the stadium even if the team were successful more attractive because it's not as cold and has way more "partying" to do, so who knows.

I'm sure Aaron Rodgers is a hermit. It's too bad that he plays for the Packers. He has such a bubbly personality just aching to burst out. Wish he played in Miami instead.

Yeah, well, some people prefer to live in places where they, you know, actually enjoy living. It's not like the Packers have been winning Super Bowls left and right either, so they can't use the "this is where you need to go if you want to win" angle. Plus, it's not like Green Bay is the only place where the fans care about the team.

You do realize that only 6% (5 people) picked Green Bay... which means 94% (77 people) of those polled would play there. Not everyone wants to play in the NFL to win Championships or to be worshipped by fans... and there's nothing wrong with that.

Well, they'd have to be pretty dumb to not be able to make the trek from Green Bay to Chicago to "enjoy living" should they feel the urge. And hey, two Super Bowl rings in the last twenty years is more than the vast majority of the franchises in the league can say. That's more than Miami, Chicago, Atlanta, New Orleans, Houston, Dallas, LA, San Diego, San Francisco's teams. Are those the cities that one might consider premier destinations for "living"? New York? Well, they could go to the Giants or Jets. Lucky them.

What's dumb about it? People value different things and Green Bay doesn't offer anything that other places with NFL teams don't, except for being a ****ty place to live. There's a chance that they could win a Super Bowl, just like the other 12 teams that make the playoffs each year, most of which aren't located in Wisconsin (I can't stress enough how much Wisconsin sucks).

Wisconsin looks pretty good to me. Had some our family friends move from San Francisco to Wisconsin in the last year and they couldn't be happier. Their business is thriving and they love the quality of life there. Of course, athletes are different. Sure, the playoff teams can win Super Bowls. That's fine and dandy. But players thinking Green Bay is one of the worst destinations in the league is just asinine.

Glad to see Mike Stanton agrees that being in a party town is not all that when your team is the worst-run team in all of sports. Good for him. Apparently not all athletes are ****heads.

Um, I'm gonna say you don't just think about playing for an organization when deciding which team to play for. I'd rather not be miserable living somewhere just for the job. The job I only go to for about half the year.

I mean I'm a Raider fan but I understand us being up there on this list thanks to our literally ****ty stadium, recent history of horribly losing, and unproven coaching staff/front office. Buffalo's pretty much in that same category, along with Cleveland and J'Ville in terms of FA attractiveness.

And Toronto? People don't like Drake THAT much bruh.
Well I didn't say I didn't understand why FA wouldn't gravitate to Buffalo right away. The franchise has done an awesome job of keeping the alumni very much involved in the community and whatnot. I mean, a fair number of guys from those SB teams live in and around the Buffalo area in their post playing days. That has to tell you SOMETHING about the community. I'm not expecting players to think "Oh yeah, Buffalo's an awesome place. Let's go there!" but from everything i've heard and seen about the city and the surrounding area is that it's a great place to live and raise a family.

As for the weather, yeah it's pretty damn cold there. In fact, i'm pretty sure i've read somewhere that Buffalo gets more snow and cold weather than Toronto does because it's so much closer to the lake so there's more lake effect phenomenon. That's a pretty big factor in liking the place. As for Toronto, the Drake comment is a little below the belt. I wasn't even thinking of him when I mentioned it. A lot of NBA guys and some NFL guys that have spoken about the city think it's a great place to visit. In fact, i've heard it said more than a few times that Toronto is in the top 5 places to visit amongst NBA players but there's that whole stigma and misconceptions about taxes etc etc that have kept a lot of em away from here. At least that shouldn't be an issue for NFL players as they could just hop over across the border and have a good time in the entertainment and club districts.

Rodgers lives in San Diego, Clay lives out here somewhere. Plenty of players have their off-season home.

Nothing about that poll is surprising at all. Players aren't going to flock to Green Bay because like others said, there's not much to do there outside of the season but luckily the majority of players live somewhere else in the offseason.

We also aren't the type that throws money at guys NOT on our team(Charles Woodson was our last big name FA signing and that was 8 years ago)so when you add that along with the fact that there's nothing to do there, then it's easy to see why it's that low.

Remember, these are young 20 something(majority black)athletes we're talking about so they want to be around some nightlife. It's why you see players ready to flock to Miami real quick even though they have done much of anything since the Marino Days.
