Re: NFL Off Topic
Knowing how second chances work, Rice will get a shot with some team in 2015. He's still relatively young and has plenty of defenders of his "character" to fall back on.Comment

ImTellinTim and wife get into a verbal fight
Wife calls police and alleges ImTellinTim hit her
Police make the report as wife states
Crying/sobbing wife goes to Magistrate office and submits a warrant affidavit on ImTellinTim
Magistrate puts out an arrest warrant on ImTellinTim
ImTellinTim gets arrested on the warrant and then has his day in court
With regards to the Hardy matter, he was found guilty but there's an appeal. Let's let due process play out, right?SOS Madden League (PS4) | League Archives

Re: NFL Off Topic
Let me preface by saying I've been closer to your side throughout all of this (taken heat in here because of it too).
I would think he would've spent at least a night in jail and get probation as a minimum, whether she has forgiven him or not.
But the more disturbing part is that I believe it was reported that they were both aggressors. She slapped him initially in the video but if that's it, then that's a joke. And I have no idea how they could possibly let them walk out on their merry way together.
First time offense, I don't think should be anything more than that in most cases (holding cell? definitely probation) but definitely shouldn't be less.
- She strikes him first.
- After he hits her back, she walks toward him and attempts to hit him again.
- A woman who wasnt equally the aggressor wouldve backed off once he hit her the first time. After Rice hits her the first time, he moves to the other side of the elevator. She then walks toward him. That I would argue is a move of aggression.Comment

It really looked like what he did was not necessary and cold blooded.

Re: NFL Off Topic
LOL. I'm a robot when it comes to the law. I saw the video this morning and was actually a little sick to my stomach. I took a step back and started to look at it from a legal perspective and those three facts I listed are what jumped out at me. I'm interested to see if people think Rice deserves jail time for a first offense with all of the extenuating facts involved.
I took issue with you seemingly placing the importance of some football games, especially week 1 football games, above the importance of serving Rice the punishment he deserves. This is something that deserves to be a big story because it calls into question all kinds of things about the culture of the NFL and the kind of punishment they are handing out for stuff like domestic violence.
I think, at the end of the day, this is entertainment vs real life. The real life issue should not and will not go away. I don't think it should have to ruin the entertainment of fans of tonight's teams. I think you still disagree with me on that, but that's okay if you do. I'm definitely not short changing the importance of the issue though.Comment

Re: NFL Off Topic
A defense attorney would argue that and he would have a decent argument. I DO NOT BELIEVE THIS but the argument I would make is within the video.

Alcohol, slipping, a push instead of a left hook + hitting head on the railing are what I would argue.
Conservative, liberal, or moderate judge...I have a hard time seeing which one would ever be in favor of Rice if this ever did go to trial.SOS Madden League (PS4) | League Archives

Although I understand what you're saying you never win this. Without video you have a good shot. With this video no chance in hell.

Re: NFL Off Topic
Guys... Ray Rice was cut from the Raven....
Hitting a women is always wrong. But I never understood the women hits a guy thing. But if it happens the other way the guy is a terrible person. Especially if he is the one getting hit first. Obviously men are much more powerful. That video is terrible.
But he'll get signed by a team. Everyone deserves a second chance. Right? smhLast edited by jeebs9; 09-08-2014, 02:59 PM.Hands Down....Man Down - 2k9 memories
