Brandon Marshall isn't fixing the issues that's going on in NE right now.

No reason for them to even make an offer like that to Chicago or any team for their top WR, really.

As someone mentioned on Twitter, a more realistic conversation would be wondering if the Bears should accept something like a 2nd and 4th/5th round pick for him.

We've got to stop this inter-division player movement.

Go to the ******* AFC, Suh.

Curious to hear some thoughts on what Mike Tomlin thinks of the phrase, "Player's Coach":

Two days after Mike Tomlin bristled at being termed a “player’s coach,” during a pregame interview, he said he mostly bristles at the broad characterization it creates.

Tomlin told reporters Tuesday that he doesn’t necessarily take it as an insult, but that he’s insulted by the undertones the phrase carries.

“I refuse to be put in a box. It’s my job to be what my team needs me to be,” Tomlin said, via Scott Brown of ESPN.com. “Sometimes it’s close and cuddly and sometimes it’s not. I don’t have any problem being any of the above.

“Sometimes when they couple ‘player’s coach’ with questions about how I wear my hair or what I choose to wear on the sidelines or what type of music I listen to, then it gets kind of old and falls into that category for me. I’d like to think the manner in which I do my job, whether it’s positive or negative, has very little to do with my haircut or the clothes that I wear or the type of music I listen to, and that’s when I get annoyed with that line of questioning.”

Tomlin’s got a point, and it’s no different than the way players are characterized.

Panthers quarterback Cam Newton got compared to players such as Michael Vick or Donovan McNabb before being drafted, even though he played more like Ben Roethlisberger.

Certain players are tagged as “athletic” and “instinctive” and certain players are “lunch pail guys” or “coaches on the field.”

And too often in the lazy telling of stories, those phrases fall along strict lines that just happen to coincide with the color of the players’ skin.

To that end, we agree with Tomlin. He’s not necessarily a player’s coach, any more than Dick LeBeau is.

          He’s just a good one.
I think he has a point, just like I think the Author has a point in regards to Cam Newton as far as who he gets compared to.

          Thoughts on this?

Receivers are a bit like RB in that they're not irreplaceable and you can easily find value guys at the position in the draft.

And I don't see how you can call Moss a headcase near the end of his rope and call the Raiders stupid for taking a 4th for him. Does not compute.

Can't say I see it. I have never thought of a players coach like that, and most of the first ones that come to mind probably don't listen to the music he does or dresses like he does (to use his words).

FCC voted today to get rid of black out restrictions but while doing so this apparently doesn't necessarily end them.

Apparently all it means is that they have pushed the responsibility of the decision to the NFL and it's broadcasting partners.

While good because I don't foresee the NFL keep the absolute of must be a sell out in order to be viewed I could still see population requirements to avoid one.

I think they'll make it so that you need to at least have 60% of the stadium filled in order to broadcast the game locally. I think that's a reasonable compromise.

I think a better compromise is lowering ticket and food prices, but thats just me.

This is my favorite thing in quite some time.

You know the signal Aaron Rodgers does sometimes where it looks like he's smoking? We saw it again over the weekend and wondered if perhaps it was a tribute to the classic Smokin' Jay Cutler Tumblr. IT IS. Via The Big Lead:

Wilde: Jeremy asks: "What is that pre-snap signal where you look like you're smoking? Is that a smoke route, or is that an indicator of two high safeties? Tony asks, "How do you keep from laughing with some of the hand gestures you do in the no-huddle?"

Rodgers: That was just a tribute to Jay Cutler, because there's that ‘Smoking Jay' web site. So I was just doing a tribute to him ...

Wilde: I think you're making that up.

                          Rodgers: ... I don't remember.

Wilde: You've done it a lot of times, though. There's people that use it as their Twitter avatar.

Rodgers: It's a dummy signal. That's the whole thing. You know, like, smoking dope - you're a dummy if you smoke dope.
Outstanding, if maybe not totally true. For one, it might not be a dummy signal. Sure doesn't look like one. For two, he might have come across the Jay Cutler thing only after people mentioned it to him.

I don't care. I choose to believe Aaron Rodgers bases his signals on Internet memes.

Steve Smith...man I watched him play his whole career. Obviously I think he's a great player but this whole feud with the Panthers needs to die.

I was against letting him go, but honestly it's stuff like that makes me not miss him. He was a mini-Moss at times...when things were going well it was terrific. When things were going bad, his antics wore thin.
