I think the Eagles will keep him. I don't remember a quarterback being traded after playing this hot.

It seems like Kelly has always been fond of Foles. From his introductory press conference as the Eagles head coach, he said he was a "huge fan" of Foles and praised him when the Ducks faced Foles in college.

He made positive comments about Foles in 2011: "I’ll tell you what; I’m glad Nick Foles is graduating," Kelly said at the time. "I catch myself watching him in awe sometimes. ... Nick is a hell of a football player. That kid’s a warrior. He’s as good as anyone in the country."

I personally would be shocked if Foles was traded in the offseason.

And to answer SPTO's question, yes, Foles has earned the starting job next season. Every time he bombs the football, there's a high chance that ball gets completed. The offense is like night and day compared to when Barkley is under helm. He's getting Cooper involved in the passing game when Vick couldn't and although McCoy's production appeared to be dipping without Vick, the last two games showed he was looking fine without him.

Of course the season isn't over yet, so I could still change my mind.

I still don't see the penalty. His head and neck stay in place as his body gets dragged by the defender. Did the NFL fine him yet for his completely legal hit? If I were a defensive player I'd be writing the league office asking what I should have done?

Is it illegal to just shove the QB with a two hand push?

Oh and the NFL should mandate a minimum height for QBs to protect them from these types of hits.

1 game suspensions of both Colts linebacker Erik Walden (headbutting a helmetless opponent) and Buc's headhunter Dashon Goldson both upheld.

They should've given Walden 2 or 3 since he had the gall to appeal what was already probably a generous to him suspension.

My buddies friend is in such denial. He said Bill O'Brien's schemes wouldn't work in the NFL, so he won't be leaving Penn State anytime soon. I'll give him 5-years (and I'm adding 4-years onto what I really believe) before he's in the NFL as the head coach of the Dallas Cowboys after they go through whoever they hire to replace Garrett (jk Cowboy fans).

A great A FOOTBALL LIFE tonight on the forward pass and an even better Backstory as well. I originally thought that the show would be a bit blah but it was actually quite interesting. Having said that though, there are a couple things worth critiquing:

                                1. They didn't hammer the importance of the 1978 rules changes which really liberated the passing game. It was mentioned in passing but let's be honest here the West Coast Offense as devised by Bill Walsh would not have been nearly as successful without those rules changing the way defense could be played.

                                2. They kept hammering the point that NOBODY passes the ball in other forms of football (rugby, soccer) but um, they're kinda forgetting the country to the north which developed its brand of football from rugby as well and while Canadian football adopted the forward pass later (1929 or thereabouts) the Canadian game exploited it more throughout its history.

which leads to the 3rd critique

                                3. The doc got just a tad jingoistic towards the end but I understand the reasoning but it's still something that should be mentioned.

As for the backstory it was great to have an X's and O's type of discussion though I think when talking about how defense always catches up to the innovation of offense they could've used a coach with a defense background in the panel discussion. I would love more programming on NFL-N where they talk about the schemes and the nuances of the game. Overall though this was a good 90 minutes (including commercials)
