Don't agree with the fine, but usually don't the fine get announced earlier in the week. I wonder why they wait til now.

As much as I hate the Steelers, I really dont think he purposely got in the way on the kick return. It looked to me that he was looking at the Jumbotron and then realized where he was when he moved. The smile was, to me, a "**** im going to be fined for this' type.

Well, at least they decided to be equal. It is quite late in the week for a fine. Brooks got hit on Tuesday. Thursday wasn't holiday for the NFL and nor for retail workers. Well, I suppose it is a holiday; Black Thursday is to National Consumerism Day, which coincidentally is celebrated the same day as Christmas, what Christmas is to Easter, they go hand in hand.

Whatever it takes to keep the crusade going I guess. Now the fine doesn't matter, it's the timing?

Either way it was completely irrelevant to the play. Anyone who thinks that Cortez Allen wasn't going to catch him either way is kidding themselves.

What crusade? That backups should get equal treatment in the rulebook as a top tier player like Brees and Brady? I just think it is a bit late for the fine. Typically when the NFL fined somebody it is before the Thursday game.

The latter half of that post was my personal rant on how corporate entities and the mindless masses are ruining what is left of society with their excessive consumerism and obsessive materialism.

You've been on a crusade about this hit since it happened for reasons unknown to anyone but yourself.

Ignoring all your blah blah blah about corporations, yesterday was a holiday. To expect a fine to be announced was naive on your part.

If we're gonna start talking about fines shouldn't Jimmy Smith be fined for that hit on Le'veon Bell last night? The play was outside of the tackle box and Smith clearly led with the crown of his helmet.

I expected it Tuesday or Wednesday. I was not on a crusade, I was upset a flag wasn't called, because we all know if that was Brady, or Brees, there most certainly would have been a flag. As for the fine being announced, I expected it to be announced on Tuesday or Wednesday when the NFL typically announces fines. I assumed yesterday that no fine was going to be levied because the NFL is usually fairly quick about fining anything that looks like a bad hit.

I've been on this site as one of the most outspoken critics of these idiotic fines, but I think it is unfair when low level QBs are not getting the calls that Brady and Manning get. So my crusade is defending the integrity of the game.

He wasn't "defenseless" though. Ball carriers moving forward are fair game, as they should be.

$7,875 this time for a throat slash gesture.

The Detroit Lions are coming off a big Thanksgiving Day win, but one of their star players will be one of the few to come out of the holiday lighter in the trousers. That's because the NFL has fined Lions … Continue reading →

I was stunned he didn't even get a flag for removing his helmet after the safety on Thanksgiving, so I'm sure they'll find a way to make up for it with random fine.

And I don't see any other way a defender can make a play when the ball carrier is diving low to the ground like Bell was in that play. If they start fining or throwing flags for those, you might as well just give ballcarriers a TD once they get to the 3 yard line.
