Not really NFL and that other thread about other leagues is well....Yeah I dunno. I'll actually post CFL news in there if someone wants but anyways the Montreal Alouettes seems hell bent to have some interesting names on their roster. Everyone knows Chad Johnson is trying his luck up there (he didn't play the first preseason game due to an ankle injury) but they also have Cris Carter's son Duron and the projected starting QB is Troy Smith. Now it's been reported that they're trying out Jerry Rice's kid at WR.

Plus Winnipeg has their collection of former NFL QBs. Robert Marve, Max Hall and Brian Brohm.

As a side note, Max Hall took over the starting QB job late last season, but is expected to go into this season as the #2/3 behind former University of Buffalo QB Drew Willy.

Yea I would prefer if you keep non NFL news in that thread and out of the NFL off topic thread.

(not a mod request, just a personal preference).

Sure no problem, I only ever post CFL stuff when it pertains to former NFLers or guys who've had standout collegiate careers anyways.

Nice. I played against Marve in HS. Glad to see he is still at it. Dude was a hellava HS QB. Never seen another QB on that level that could sense pressure from his blind side, spin back out towards his blind side, then launch a strike on the run. That's how he made a name for himself

It's such a disgrace that a kid that just got the best job he's ever going to have is having fun. On the weekends. During the off-season.

Some people act like he's going out on a Saturday night in November. Let him have some ****ing fun, geez.

I don't think anyone here is saying he can't have fun but it's the WAY he's doing it. He's just being very immature and displays an attitude that's 100% diametrically opposed to the good things he's said about how he's going to be a humble player etc etc.

It probably wouldn't even be as big of a deal if he wasn't a QB but fairly or unfairly QBs are held to a higher standard and can't go out there looking like a douche and acting the fool. We'll see how he does once things get real but something tells me he's going to be given a harsh reality check.

I just think the media coverage would be different if it was a different kid. I don't really care one way or another, but you can't deny how hilarious these pictures are on multiple levels.

Well I mean people are just focusing on the negatives. When that picture of him and Gronk in Vegas was taken, he was taking a break from studying the playbook.

It's like the popular opinion is "Now that he's a pro athlete, his antics are going to get even worse". But in reality, he's going the right way about all this. I mean, he took his playbook to Vegas lol.

I see your argument to an extent but see, this is where detractors could easily make an argument. I mean, it seems GOOD that he took his playbook with him to Vegas but honestly, how much are you going to get done with all that distraction. You wouldn't see a Tom Brady or Peyton Manning going off to Vegas and taking their playbook to "supposedly" study it while taking silly pictures and being drunk off their ***.

Again as I said, it's may not be fair but QBs are held to a much higher standard than other position players.
