The first half of the Ravens schedule is brutal. 5 of the first 7 games are away, including two weeks of consecutive west coast trips on two separate occasions. And the opener in Denver again.

Better stock up on the booze now.
That's the exact same thing we said looking over the schedule last night. Just give me one against those damn Packers. Please.

I am curious why the NFL schedule isn't more "syncronized". I know that week 17 is all intra-division games. But why isn't the whole season that way? Certain weeks all games would be inter division. There woud be 4 weeks designated to the interconfernce games. Two weeks for the positional matchups.... Etc.

Seems like it wouldn't be too difficult to schedule teams coming off byes to play other teams coming off that same bye.

And I suppose the bye week would require some adjustments in the middle of the season.

Meh, nothing that keeps me awake at night. Just a curiosity.

Would be nice but I ain't counting on it. We'll get beat like a drum as usual. I just hope they don't completely ruin Thanksgiving by getting run out of Lambeau within the first ten minutes.

The NFL has given up their Tax exempt status and will start paying taxes this FY. Also, as such they will no longer have to disclose Roger Goodell's salary. I don't think the two are related, but its worth pointing out.

They had a stat on ESPNradio today that since Goodell became commish in '07 he's made more money than Peyton, Eli, Matt Ryan, Tom Brady, and another name I'm forgetting. He's "earned" something like $150M in 8 years, it's crazy

Drop in the bucket when dealing with 32 ~billion+ dollar franchises, the new TV contacts, the new labor deal, etc. The salary cap alone represents over $4b in compensation going to players annually.

$150m over 8 years is cheap in context.

This might have far reaching implications in that by no longer being tax exempt wouldn't it make it easier for the PA to conduct independent audits of the league and teams when the next round of collective bargaining comes to play?

I'm sure Rog is losing sleep over it. He should hold out and demand a new contract lol.

Think it's fairly rare but it happens. Googling around the Titans got 4 this year and last had that happen in 1990.

I not sure I'd want 4 consecutive home games, that means other parts of the schedule could suck that much worse, like the Titans' 2 games away games to kick off the season and 3 of 4 on the road to conclude it.

They actually have a bye in the middle of that 4 game stand to break it up a little.
