Tony Romo replaces Phil Simms on CBS. Neither the Texans or Broncos land Tony Romo to play QB. Great day to be a Patriots fan.

Damn, I wish they would've kept Phil just for comedic purposes.

The sound byte of when he was in NE and they threw a Snowball at him will always be hilarious.

This dunce post doesn't even deserve a legit response.

        That's a clown post, bro.

Tony Romo is retiring with the fourth best career passer rating in the history of the National Football League, the seventh-best single-season passer rating in the history of the National Football League (in 2014), the most passing yards and passing touchdowns in the history of the Dallas Cowboys, and the 14th most 4th-quarter comebacks in NFL history. Among active quarterbacks, no quarterback has a better career passer rating in the 4th quarter and overtime.

          Clearly he's a schmuck.

Anyway, if you all could allow me to be a nostalgic and sentimental child for a second:

Kind of surprised Romo made the decision so quickly. I was almost expecting retirement after the Cowboys could not work a trade with him, but I thought Romo would think it over a little more.

Sad to see one of the best and most entertaining QBs of the past 10 years leaving the game.

Not sure this was really a quick decision, he's probably been considering his options for the better part of a year and believe he said today he's been taking to CBS since the end of the season.

Looks like Thursday Night Football will be moving to Amazon Prime next season.

Edit: Amazon paid $50m, up from the $10m Twitter paid last year.

Very interesting. Didn't know they were a player alongside Twitter, Facebook, and YouTube.

Never streamed anything live from Amazon... wonder how that will work. Never even though of Amazon as a live streaming service, more like an on demand service like Netflix. Speaking of, wonder if they made a bid.

I'm always for live sports moving to online streams. I prefer when it's free, since it sounds like the Amazon TNF games will be on CBS or NBC anyway, but any additional way of viewing is fine by me.

Maybe Amazon Prime won't have ads or they'll have their own set of ads.

There will still be TV timeouts so they will likely find something to fill that time with.

                              1. The only thing that rubs me the wrong way about Romo going to CBS and working with Nantz is that the guy literally has no broadcast experience but just because he was a big name QB who happens to be friends with Nantz he gets the top job?! Maybe he'll blow it like Montana and slink away into the good night though I doubt it. Romo seems to have a personality and has a good handle on the game today.

A big name QB is a perfect personality as a color analyst. The only thing he has to learn is when to speak and when to shut up and he can handle that.

Romo is also rumored to be doing golf coverage for them in the future.

If he were being hired as a play by play guy I would agree with you.
