Re: Best QB in the NFL
I was talking more about people attributing his recent other-worldly play to the offense that the Packers run. That one game where Matt Flynn shredded the putrid Lions secondary set everyone off.Comment

Re: Best QB in the NFL
Well... the knock was that he might have issues adjusting to the more complex schemes of NFL defenses, if I remember correctly.
I'm pretty sure he proved beyond a reasonable doubt in his NFL career that he can make all the reads, throws, and everything necessary.
I'm potentially being a homer here, but Aaron Rodgers is hands down the best quarterback in the league. I'm not basing it off of stats (but we can go down that route if need be.)
He has amazing pocket presence, a strong arm, impeccable decision making, great field vision, decent legs if protection breaks down, and just does stuff I don't see any other quarterback today being able to do. He's the true total package.
Note: Nowhere in this post am I putting down other quarterbacks. Brady/PManning have had better careers than Rodgers. Brees has the passing record. Those 3 are all elite quarterbacks as well, and I am not trying to discredit anything they have done.
I am talking in pure skillset terms.
Actually, we'll throw in some numbers just for fun.
Rodgers is the NFL's all-time career leader in passer rating during both the regular season with a rating of 104.1, and the postseason with a rating of 105.5 – among passers with at least 1,500 and 150 pass attempts respectively. He also holds the league's lowest career pass interception percentage for quarterbacks during the regular season with a percentage of 1.80%, and the single season passer rating record of 122.5.
Now, I don't expect him to replicate last year (although it could be possible.) If he keeps doing what he's doing, we could be watching the greatest quarterback to date. Only time will tell - though as it stands in the league right now... If you were to make me pick one quarterback to start in the super bowl - it's Rodgers.badComment

Re: Best QB in the NFL
Brady gets my vote. I used to argue he's a system QB, but that offense looks and operates completely different than it did in 2001. He made me a believer during the 2010 season when that team had nothing and he took them to the playoffs.Originally posted by MoJust once I'd like to be the one they call a jerk off.Originally posted by MoYou underestimate my lazinessOriginally posted by Mo**** ya

Re: Best QB in the NFL
Brady hands down. Most of his career he's done more with less than any quarterback and won 3 Super Bowls.
On a side note, I think it's time to start realizing Eli is an "elite" quarterback and is severely underrated.Comment

If he can player like he did last season again, then yes, he is elite.Comment

Re: Best QB in the NFL
1) Brady
2) Brees
3) Rodgers
4) E.Manning
5) P.Manning (Only because of neck is he here)
I think those guys are the elite, the rest are just really good then so on so fourth. Although I think you could argue Big Ben is elite, it's just Eli is very good and Peyton is still around.
Guys like Romo, Flacco, Ryan, Rivers, Stafford, Cutler, Vick are just underneath. Not in that order though..
Personally (As a Lions fan) I think Stafford may well be on the verge of being one of the best quite soon. Stafford makes Calvin look great, Calvin makes Stafford look great. Considering both look to be around for a very long time, record books may just be re-written.
I also quite like Bradford. I think if he doesn't get injured and improves on his first season we may well see him to start to rise up.Comment
