Re: Is (Insert Player Here) A Hall of Famer?
I'm saying no to Chad Johnson. Overall, his numbers are solid, but far from eye popping when you look at other receivers that played during the same time period (Moss, Owens, Bruce, Holt, etc.) and some other guys who are still waiting to get in (Carter and Brown) though.Comment

His numbers are actually pretty similar to Michael Irvin's, which I wasn't expecting, but I'd still say no.
When I think of Chad Johnson I think of an all-time great personality in the league, but not an all-time great receiver. Basically he's another "Hall of Very Good" guy.Originally posted by bradtxmaleI like 6 inches. Its not too thin and not too thick. You get the support your body needs.

Chad Johnson? No way, his numbers would need to exceed or match the production of players in his decade, plus he's had no post-season success.
Sigh, this thread had a lot of promise.Comment

I like Chad, I really want him to get in, but he never really had that level of success to separate him from his contemporarires who will also be up for HOF (Moss, T.O., Harrison). Not to mention other guys who may not have had as good of stats but will likely get consideration bc of their team's success (Hines Ward). Add to that the fact that there will likely be some HOF worthy TEs who put up better numbers this era (Tony Gonzalez, Jason Witten) and it's likely gonna be a no.Comment

Re: Is (Insert Player Here) A Hall of Famer?
Speaking of Harrison, isn't he eligible this year for the Hall? It's 4 years after they retire right? He retired in '08. He will definitely get in, but I can't wait until his HOF speech. The guy was so ridiculously quiet and seemed like he was anti-social almost. I wouldn't be surprised if he declines the speech honestly.Originally posted by bradtxmaleI like 6 inches. Re: Is (Insert Player Here) A Hall of Famer?
Chad Johnson is a no. 2003-2007 was his peak, and it was great. But it wasn't best receiver in the league material, and he didn't play for any notable teams. There were times where you thought the Bengals were going to put it together, but they just never did for vaious reasons. Once his decline came, it was swift and drastic. Very good player in his time, but not HOF material.
Patiently awaiting Urlacher because I think that one's going to have some differing opinions.Comment

I vote no for Johnson. His showboating is why he is even known imo. Not only that but his stats are good but he was not one of those guys that you was kinda scared to think of how to cover(Moss, TO, Jerry Rice, etc...). Dont get me wrong, big fan of Johnson but not a HOF player.
Heres two suggestions on a poll for. Torry Holt and Issac Bruce.Comment
