Yes, Brian Urlacher belongs in the HoF.

I'm going to say yes. Urlacher has been the second best or best MLB for almost 10 years.

Urlacher to me is one of the most overrated players in the history of the game. Good player but not the next coming of Dick Butkus that some would lead you to believe. Good player not a great player.

Chad Johnson when compared to other WR's in the league in his era was he ever considered the best WR or even in the top 3. I like his game a lot but as others have said, he's in the Hall of Very Good but not the Hall of Fame, imo.

Urlacher is a Yes IMO. He has always right behind Ray Lewis when it comes to possibly being in the HoF.

For now, I'd have to say NO. His last few years have been good, but honestly not great. I feel he's been doing good but looking great off of name.

Maybe if he does something big in the next few years I'll change my mind.

Urlacher will eventually get in, but he will have to wait awhile. I'll post why I think that later.

                  Here's one.

Devin Hester? Will he be able to get in eventually on the merits of his being arguably the best pure return guy in the history of the NFL?

I actually agree with bk in that Urlacher was pretty overrated for a long time, but he has still had a great career and I think he will get in. I don't consider him a first ballot guy by any means, but a Hall of Famer in general? Yes.

                          What?

I heard this debate a while back. The merits of a guy like Hester getting in despite really being a returner only. People seemed to be split down the middle on it.

This sums up my thoughts exactly about Urlacher, including the spoiler.

Interesting note about Chad Johnson, since I'm late to the party, when asked about it on First Take last time he was on, he didn't even put himself in the top tier of receivers of his Era, pretty sure he said he was second tier behind Harrison, TO and Moss. So unless those three all go in and the log jam in front of him clears, I don't think he's a HoF.

I know we aren't supposed to nominate guys ourselves, but I'm interested in seeing what everyone's thoughts on London Fletcher are. I live in the heart of Skins country and a lot of hubbub being made lately w/ Lewis' retirement that his numbers are similar to Ray's. I just don't see him being HOF material all things considered.

Not trying to run this thread for the OP (you're doing just fine) but maybe we can say it's okay to throw out a name or two but it's up to the OP if/when they come up for discussion. I think both Hester and Fletcher are good choices... both better than Ray Lewis to be honest. Don't know who else the OP had in mind so we'll let him continue running the show but I like both of those suggestions.
