Brady had an AV of 16 and Dillon had an AV of 15 (while missing a game) for that 2004 Patriots team. So yeah, I'd say that Dillon was pretty valuable to the success of their championship team that year.

So this will take some projection and I know the injuries already have had an impact but what about Gronk? I think if he can have 4-5 years being healthy he could be within shouting distance of the HOF.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Re: Is (Insert Player Here) A Hall of Famer?
Easily the best true TE of his generation. IMO he is the only true great TE in the league. Graham doesn't block. But he needs to stay healthy like you said. There is a good chance he will be in there. Also if this team stays together there is a good chance he gets at least 1 more ring.Comment

Best TE of his generation? Don't know about all that.
What's considered "his generation"?#RespectTheCultureComment

Re: Is (Insert Player Here) A Hall of Famer?
Depends on Gronk's "generation" as has been said, but I think he's probably going to get in.
Also, did I just see people remember Dillon as a Patriot? Always will remember Dillon as a beast of a Bengal.Too Old To Game Club

Re: Is (Insert Player Here) A Hall of Famer?
My thoughts on Gronk's generation is when he came in to whenever he finishes. You could it is arguable because of Gates and Gonzalez but they are both either in the end of their prime to retiring. As of right now he is the best true TE in the league. But we need to see how long he lasts and how many games he plays.
And what about the both of them? Gates and Gonzalez.Comment

Re: Is (Insert Player Here) A Hall of Famer?
Wait a minute... Gronk only has about two full healthy seasons under his belt, and has only been in the league since 2010. But you're ready to call him the best TE of his generation, and you're implying that he is future HoF talent.
Yet, Marshawn Lynch has only missed 6-7 games total due to injury during a stint in the league that's over 7 years and counting, and has only missed one game to injury since coming to Seattle, while performing at an elite level with a a more punishing style than Gronk plays with... and he's not HoF material?

I would assume so. You can't put Gates in the Hof and not put Witten in.Throw up the X!

Marshawn Lynch is a very good power back...that statistically hasn't done anything incredibly elite outside of his 1 year of 5.0 average.Too Old To Game Club

Re: Is (Insert Player Here) A Hall of Famer?
But yea Gronk is an elite TE and right now there are not any other TE's, IMO, that are better all-around TEs than Gronk. And he seems to be liked by the media. But I posed a question earlier about Gates and Gonzalez and neither have a ring and they are both locks. And IMO if Gronk stays healthy as has some good QB play, which it seems like he will, he probably will have at a minimum have stats that are comparable to Gates and Gonzalez. But the only that Lynch seems to have going in his favor is the 1 SB ring. As I stated earlier, he has stats that are comparable to Brian Westbrook, Eddie George, and Clinton Portis and none of them are being talked about as HoFers just because they don't have the ring, which isn't a knock on just them they all played on some good teams but they also played on bad teams.Comment

...Too close to call, IMO. I would lean towards probably not in, because he didn't play long enough...but he was a force every year of his career.Too Old To Game Club
