Re: 2013 NFL Draft Discussion
Geno Smith has fired his Agent and according to Manish Mehta of the NYDN, he fired them because he believed he would be and should be(nothing wrong with this thinking)that he would go #1.#RespectTheCultureComment

Re: 2013 NFL Draft Discussion
Wow, the more Smith is the NFL the longer it looks like he's a huge crybaby. Wanting to leave Radio City after not getting picked in the first round and then firing his agent because he thoughts he was going to go #1? He really thought he was going #1? Well, this will make the Jets QB battle even more interesting.NFL: Houston Texans / Carolina Panthers
NBA: Indiana Pacers
MLB: Cleveland Indians
NCAA: Purdue Boilermakers
NASCAR: Ryan Newman
One day, Purdue Men's Basketball and Football will become relevant again.Comment

I also love how Geno Smith gets docked points for wanting to leave. Everyone just ignores the fact that he actually didn't leave.NFL - Vikings

I forgot to quote, but Ice Cold called him a crybaby for wanting to leave RadioCity. I think it's pretty normal that Geno wanted to leave.NFL - Vikings

Re: 2013 NFL Draft Discussion
Buffalo Bills like EJ Manuel's hands, bad-weather play
The Buffalo Bills did more scouting on quarterbacks during preparation for the 2013 NFL Draft than coach Doug Marrone had ever expereinced.
The decision to select EJ Manuel was partially due to the regularity with which nasty weather whips Ralph Wilson Stadium late in the season. Even for a man who coached down the road at Syracuse, throwing the ball into the Buffalo wind seemed like a big concern.
"I remember when I first got the job here in Buffalo, and I had been up here and played up here before, and I got out of the car in January and the wind I was like, 'Wow.' I never realized how windy it was that time of the year," Marrone said, via BuffaloBills.com.
Manuel set himself apart from other prospects after impressing coaches when he threw well during a thunderstorm at a private workout with the Bills brass in Tallahassee, Fla.
Marrone said they not only scouted how the potential draft picks played in poor weather -- that Pinstripe Bowl wasn't flattering for Geno Smith and Ryan Nassib -- but also broke down common characteristics among good poor-weather quarterbacks. The consensus: Big paws.
"We went back and researched all the teams that played in the Northeast in the bad weather and all the success they had with quarterbacks and the common traits that they had," Marrone said. "They were big and had big hands and were able to throw the ball in tough weather and that's what we were looking at."
Manuel had the biggest hands (10 3/8 inches) and longest arms (35 inches) of any of the quarterbacks at the 2013 NFL Combine.

Re: 2013 NFL Draft Discussion
I remember someone citing lack of arm strength for cold and windy late season games in the AFC East as one of the raps against Sanchez when he was drafted.
But then again, Elway had a bad game at KC or Denver in cold driving rain one year because he couldn't grip the ball and put enough on the ball.Comment
