    Re: 2013 NFL Draft Discussion

I'm hoping we do draft a big receiver.

I seen three different receivers for us in those Mocks, Robert Woods, Cordarrelle Patterson and Tavon Austin.

Out of those, due to his size, I really wanted Patterson.

The reason Tavon Austin was being brought up was because of the possibly loss of Percy Harvin. Personally, I like Jarius Wright, a lot. I liked the drafting of him and Greg Childs. Unfortunately, Childs reaggravated his knee injury and we cut him.

If we would lose Harvin though, I'd really like to see us go after Patterson, if he's there. That way, we'd have Patterson, Wright and Rudolph out there every play.

Does it sound ideal? No, but I believe that would be our best receiving line-up. They could all stretch the field and really open things up for Peterson and his quest for 2,500 rushing yards, haha.

The CBS one also has the Saints taking Manti Te'o, I'd say our starting LBs are fine for next season with Hawhtorne(slowed by injury), Lofton, and Chamberlain/Casillas

        For the Bucs:
        - Draft 124782387585 corner backs to make sure we get 2 that can actually play.
        - Maybe pick up a RB later in the draft to spell Martin (assuming Blount gets let go)
        - Draft a FS to eventually replace Ronde

        For the Bills:
        - Do whatever it takes to get Teo in the 1st
        - Draft a QB in the 2nd (I'd like Nassib) or trade back into the end of the 1st to get the QB that you want
        NFL: Bills
        NBA: Bucks
        MLB: Cubs
        NCAA: Syracuse

Chargers should use their first 4 Draft picks on OL. Our C Hardwick is fine but every other position needs to be replaced.

After that another ILB(Spikes retiring), CB(Jammer is done & Cason sucks), RB(just ask bk how he feels about Ryan Matthews) would suffice.

If the Cowboys hadn't just dropped (wasted) a ton of money in interior offensive line (Nate Livings and Mackenzy Bernadeau) I'd say draft a guard immediately in Round 1. The line didn't suck towards the end of the season though, so maybe it's not so clear-cut where that Round 1 pick goes. Something in the trenches on either side of the ball seems most likely.

Depth on defense is sorely needed, we ran out of bodies. I'd like to see multiple picks used on that side of the ball. Particularly S, DL, and ILB.

If the right guy falls to us at the right slot in an early round, I wouldn't be opposed to taking WR. Harris could be okay? Ogletree just isn't, unfortunately.

Finally, again if the right guy falls to us, talented developmental QB who can sit and learn behind Tony Romo for a year. Romo is at-minimum entering the last year of his contract with Dallas, and if we decide not to keep him following that there needs to be a succession plan in place, unlike what was the case when Troy Aikman's career ended.

Will be interesting to see if Margus Hunt can get in the first round. I believe he is projected in the 2nd round right now.

Don't be alarmed, that large crashing noise you hear is Teo's stock dropping.

Yeah he will drop, not just because of last night. I really like him because his instincts are high. That said, he will drop because of two things. One, he's not an exceptional athlete so don't expect his combine and pro day numbers to wow people. Second, last night he was EXPOSED. If you can get to him it is over. Bama got to him with Guards and completely humbled him on the field. Teo and nobody else wanted any part of Lacy last night. Lacy was a freaking war tank.

Well, I wanted Te'o for the Raiders but after last night....

The unfortunate thing is that there isn't a guy that teams would be willing to trade up for in this draft. The Raiders need a ton of help and would benefit from trading down to gain more picks, but that doesn't seem likely given how weak the draft class is on paper.

I never thought Teo was a top 5, top 10 prospect that apparently many people thought he was. I refer to Patrick Willis, who was the 11th pick, and who was a better prospect than Teo.

Maybe middle of the 1st, okay. I just don't see a game changer right now, middle to late 1st round prospect who had a sort of fluky year in terms of his interceptions.

College O-linemen trucking Te'o didn't help matters. What will bigger, stronger NFL guys do to him? I feel for him; he'd been thru a lot this year. But he was exposed, and that's gonna hurt his draft number ...
