That being said, if it's not, then I agree with the rest of your post.

Re: Aaron Hernandez Saga
I don't know if it's a loophole, it's always been a set precedent.
This just has a much different impact due to the estate.
Normally it just happens to people that were already sentenced to life with no estate so we just don't hear about it.
It's far from over though. There will be wrongful death suits filed against the estate.Comment

Re: Aaron Hernandez Saga
Apparently there's a line of thought that the Patriots will be on the hook for the remainder of Hernandez's guaranteed salary (about $6.4M) with the criminal murder conviction now vacated.
Now, whether his estate actually sees that money after all the civil suits to surely follow is another story, but it's one more turn in a bizarre and unfortunate story.Comment

Espn said it's highly unlikely considering the contract had a morals clause and it doesn't necessarily have to be murder he is guilty of to negate them having to pay.

Are they gonna go with the narrative that big bad evil football turned this otherwise-innocent guy into a multiple time murderous piece of ****?Comment

Re: Aaron Hernandez Saga
Yeah, blaming football for the CTE, but only the NFL and not the Gators or his HS career for it.
Though, I'd think they'd have to prove they forced him onto the field after concussion(s) and/or somehow rope it into the larger CTE discussion for this to go very far. I don't think 'he played in the NFL, check please' really works, so interested to see how they form the argument.Comment

Re: Aaron Hernandez Saga
Just pick the one with the most money obviously. It's really this simple though....his parents are to blame for years 1-18 and after that it's all on the murderer himself. Nobody forced him to play football.Comment
