Well at least I won't have to worry about him being a bust on my Fantasy team this year.

its crazy to be honest how these athletes can have everything they could ever want, yet still want to pursue that "gang" "hard knocks" lifestyle.. it's a damn shame! As everyone else has said, Hernandez is guilty of something at the very least, even if he wasn't the one to pull the trigger.

Playing devils advocate here, but what about this potential twist lol (like we're watching Law and Order or something..) What if it was his girlfriend who killed the deceased and AH was trying to cover up for it??

hmm, doubtful to me personally.. but, im intrigued to see how this gets played out. I'd do anything to have the talent that these athletes have, and it infuriates me to watch them just flush it all away.

This is probably just the media making a big deal out of nothing (what else is new) but apparently Hernandez threatened Wes Welker during his rookie year:

The more we hear about Aaron Hernandez, the more we realize how many warning signs the New England Patriots were given prior to and after drafting him in

I didn't mean he shouldn't be treated like everyone else just because of his fame. I meant it'd be a shame for his career to end so soon. Anyone that commits a crime, especially murder, deserves to be punished.

Then I come back with: "It's not a shame, it's idiocy."

He isn't magically entitled to his career because he may be above average at something.

You know what's a shame? Ben Wilson is a shame.

This isn't a shame. It's a joke. How hard is it to follow the laws so you can keep enjoying the millions of dollars one will make over the course of a career? Not very.

I'm not directing this at you - I've seen it posted elsewhere recently by writers about athletes/actors/etc. about people that died early from cocaine overdoses/heroin overdoses/etc. That's not a shame. That pure stupidity in it's base form. This rant is just more a culmination of that.

Great rant and I agree though I can see someone saying it's a shame that Hernandez and other people who've thrown away a good thing BECAUSE they were so stupid to put themselves in that situation.

Let's be realistic here, if you had tons of money the temptation to do things that are a little skeevy or to think you're above the law is mighty tempting. This is why I shake my head when young guys are given gazilions of dollars because there are a contingent of athletes that don't have the RESPONSIBILITY to do the right thing when given oodles of cash.

THAT'S pretty shameful because being a superstar athlete isn't just about having God given talent it's also about managing your life and career. Not acting like a complete boob.

Who cares what people call him.... He'll still get his trial. People will always assume guilt first. Its what happens when idiot athletes put themselves in moronic unnecessary situations

Yeah well, sad story, but it's the way people are. He could have nothing come of this but people will still refer to him as a murderer. Just like Ray Lewis.
