I'll be looking forward to see who Skov ends up with.

Maybe a slightly more athletic Wes welker. He has better size than Wes, but he's a similar player--not a flashy-run past you/jump over you/juke you out of your shoes-receiver, but, as already mentioned, a very reliable receiver with good hands

Michael Sam just came out. What a courageous young man. Will definitely be rooting for him.

Takes a ton of courage to come out before the draft, especially considering the environment he is going into.

Sure does, I am sure like many people here, I've come a long way from my days as a teen on my attitude towards gay people.

It's been tough for me to work some of the slang terms out of my vocabulary especially being an online gamer one of the first trash talk things people say is "youre a f**". I wouldn't say I'm an activist but really to each their own what ever makes you happy its none of my business.

I wish him the best, I am sure he will hear some crap but I think there will be more people rooting for him than against him.

This is my hope as well. The NFL is a strange and often backwards place at times though. I wish him all the best. it'll be interesting to see how this affects his draft stock. (i'm hoping it doesn't but you never know) My hope is that he goes to a team that has a strong organization and infrastructure in place because if he goes to a place like Miami where discipline seems to be a bit lax then it could be rough for him.

I will certainly be following and rooting for him for sure.

Hopefully he's a good player that slips to the Texans and ends up being a valuable contributor on the field for a Super Bowl winning season in the not-so-distant future.

                    Some that I like:
                    QB--Brett Smith, WYO
                    QB--David Fales, SJSU
                    QB--Keith Wenning, BALL ST
                    HB--Terrance West, Towson
                    HB--Antonio Andrews, WKU
                    WR--L'Damian Washington
                    WR--Robert Herron, WYO
                    TE--Crockett Gilmore, COLORADO ST
                    OT--Billy Turner, ND ST
                    C--Weston Richburg, COLORADO ST
                    DT--Caroun Reid, PRINCETON
                    OLB--Denicos Allen, MICH ST
                    ILB--Shayne Skov, STAN
                    CB--Ricardo Allen, PURDUE
                    SS--Vinnie Sunseri, BAMA

These two are the guys I have more experience with, so they are my favorite coming out.

Fales is a QB which I think could be an NFL starter on some teams. He hasn't gotten to play that many good teams, but he could fit well in a West Coast style of offense. He isn't going to sling around everywhere, but if you put him in an offense like Denver (dinks and dunks), he could do well.

Ricardo Allen is a guy that could make some splash plays for you, as he likes to get pick-6s(has four I believe at Purdue.) He could be a great nickel corner, since he's 5' 9" and has great ball hawking skills. He could be a fun player to watch late in the draft.
NFL: Houston Texans / Carolina Panthers
                    NBA: Indiana Pacers
                    MLB: Cleveland Indians
                    NCAA: Purdue Boilermakers
                    NASCAR: Ryan Newman

One day, Purdue Men's Basketball and Football will become relevant again.

If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)

From what I have read, he is targeted in the 3 - 7th rounds. He is under sized and he got 9 of his 11.5 sacks against 3 bad teams.

Why do this now? He just set himself up for a lawsuit when he falls in the draft. He already had an uphill battle to make a team, now if he gets cut, he can still make money.

There are plenty if things I could talk about, but would probably lead to TOS. I don't see how he can make it in a locker room. Meetings, playing, etc will be fine, but the locker room will not.

I don't think it's so much for a lawsuit, but it IS a genius move. He can be like Tebow; cash in on the fact he didn't make it.

I'm not sure how much of an issue it will be , I admire the dude's courage though. If he can play, and the Seahawks get him late/undrafted - I'm cool. I mean UFA 's won us a super bowl lol.

He probably did it now because it gets all the bigotry out of the way before the draft.

This article is an interesting read on some of the stuff that went into the decision: http://www.outsports.com/2014/2/9/53...ouri-nfl-draft

It sounds like the plan was to make the announcement after the combine but they pushed up the timing because so many people knew already and they wanted to be in control of how the news was released.

Yeah, because the Mizzou locker room was in disarray the entire season because they knew he's gay. Oh wait, they were completely fine with it, just as any other half decent human being would be fine with it.

I played water polo until last year and we had a gay player on our team, in water polo nonetheless (basically naked all the time and grabbing each other). No one ever had an issue with him, nor was he treated any different than the rest of us. If a guy's going hard in practice and on game days, you could care less about his sexual preferences.

I'd have a bigger issues hanging out with guys who are cheating on their wives/girlfriends.
