Re: 2014 NFL Draft Discussion Thread

Manziel reminds of Romo in the pocket, there are times when he extends the play or evades a collapsing pocket and I'm thinking, "how did he just do that?" That'll be a huge asset in the NFL. His quickness and shiftyness is more important than his straightline speed.

Another similarity is how unfairly they are scrutinized....
Manziel is kind of a jerk, and people are questioning his character because of it. But I think he has the talent to be a star QB. The only thing that will stop him is injuries. That's the only concern I have about Manziel.
I don't see how Some people are saying that he's a 3rd rounder...

        Manziel reminds me of tebow.

Also weak was a strong word it's just Imo the floor on the qbs this year are lower than previous years.

Edit: where the hell did Steves message come from?

Personally, Manziel reminds me of a more-talented Tate Forcier.

Anyone else hear Phil Simms say that Geno Smith would be the best QB in this class? I heard it on Mike and Mike this morning. I personally think that is pure stupidity. I would put Geno behind the top three, maybe close to Carr (I'm a big fan of Carr so I'd put him ahead of Geno) I'd say Geno would be a top 5 QB in this years class, but still out of the 1st round.

I'd rank Geno behind Bridegway, Bortles & Carr....

Phill Simms and John Gruden are probably the two least intelligent football announcers.

I would label this as a weak QB class in terms of first rounders, picks 20 and lower. There are quite a few potential 2nd and 3rd round talents (if we're in a vacuum) but you just know some team is going to jump the gun (a la Buffalo, EJ Manuel) and set the dominos in motion.

As a Bills fan, I'm satisfied with EJ Manuel but I wish the team had drafted somebody else in the first, because Manuel would have more than likely been there in the second.

This draft class is deep, there are gonna be some late round picks who are goin to have a chance to make an impact in the near future.

I meant in terms of QB. I suppose this is why I should proof read more often. I agree the class as a whole has depth, I just think the QBs lack true first round talent, but are more suited for the second and third rounds.

If Manziel was 10lbs heavier and an inch taller, there wouldn't even be a question of his ability.

There would still be plenty of questions about his ability, rightfully so.

There would be less questions about his durability in the NFL.

If I was Houston I'd take Manziel #1. He is the perfect person for them because, one he is arguably the best QB in the draft, and two he is a Texas kid that went to a Texas college, the perfect marketing scheme.
