Manziel will be great in the NFL imo. He'll embarrass NFL players trying to sack him much like RG3, Wilson, Cam all did. The thing I worry about Manziel is his prayer balls. When in doubt he just throws it up to Evans and more than not he gets bailed out. That wont work in the NFL unless he goes to the Lions.

I feel like as a prospect Manziel is very similar to RG3. He's not as fast but is more shifty.
I know the Rams are just sitting back waiting for a team to absolutely fall for one of the quarterbacks. They may hit the jackpot again.SEATTLE SEAHAWKS

Re: 2014 NFL Draft Discussion Thread
So with the Texans signing Bill O Brien, there is already word he is bringing in his staff from Penn St. If Phillips is gone in Houston, this could open the door for Houston to possible look at Jadeveon. He likes to run a 4-3 which could change the Texans Draft. Not saying they dont need a QB, but could they possibly pick up a QB with a trade back into the latter part of the 1st roundatleast..Its not DelawareComment

I don't see Houston getting cute with the pick. They need a QB, a top tier prospect is available. I can't see them unnecessarily complicating things.NFL - Vikings

What holes does Houston have on their team? I feel like they bigger holes than drafting a QB #1 overall would be able to solve.#RespectTheCultureComment

Re: 2014 NFL Draft Discussion Thread
I don't think the Texans necessarily go QB with their first pick. They have 3 Qbs that Obrien can work with on the team. Unless they are completely enamored with Bridgewater, I wouldnt be shocked if they went elsewhere with the pick.Comment

There is talk of Houston trading out of the #1 spot in order to draft a QB and to fill a defensive need.Comment

As a patriots fan, I hope that never happens. Johnny manziel is the second coming of tim tebow.Comment

Re: 2014 NFL Draft Discussion Thread
As a Patriots fan I can tell you that you could not be more wrong about Manziel being the same as Tebow. Not wanting Manziel as your franchise QB is one thing, but to call him the second coming of Tebow is a stretch.Comment

Re: 2014 NFL Draft Discussion Thread
Im so torn on what I want the Vikings to take, personally they could do a lot of things. Do they trade up and try to grab maybe Bridgewater or another QB, do they pursue Clowney for our aging Dline or do they trade down and focus on Defense/Oline and grab a QB in the second or third rounds. Maybe McCarron or someone else?PS4 Twitch: http://www.twitch.tv/candyman5os

Re: 2014 NFL Draft Discussion Thread
For the 10+ year in a row:
COWBOYS, DRAFT A FRIGGIN' SAFETY!!!!!!!!!!!
The defense has been gashed deep down the middle for years now, we haven't had a competent safety since Darren Woodson retired in '03!
EDIT:
Seriously, though, the entire draft should be dedicated to the defense and depth. This team lacks both right now. Somehow, I'm sure the team will yet again get enamored with a RB, WR or TE prospect.Last edited by elgreazy1; 01-03-2014, 06:52 PM.Comment

Re: 2014 NFL Draft Discussion Thread
I have respect for Johnny as a college QB. Tremendous athlete who put A&M on the map. His numbers are some of the best in college football history, kinda like tebow IMO. Johnny can outrun a whole defense in college and make those guys miss. But that kind of circus stuff does not translate to the NFL.Last edited by johnnyg713; 01-03-2014, 08:49 PM.Comment

Re: 2014 NFL Draft Discussion Thread
I was a huge Manziel fan last year. After watching him this year, he relies way too much on his legs and we all know that type of style does not last long in the NFL. Sure RGIII and Cam Newton had good rookie seasons, but Cam Newton is having a great year this year because he is pass first. Not to mention Cam is an absolute freak athletically. When under pressure Johnny has yet to show his poise in the pocket and have the ability to get the ball out quickly. A lot of his throws are off his back foot and at times seem careless. Watch his 2013 highlights on YouTube, the "big" plays he makes are floaters that would be picked off in the NFL. Not to mention he throws to the best WR in college football.
