I don't see how they could be a notch better than Bostion. He has the strength, size, route running and hands of owens with the speed and Athleticism of Moss. Plus he does it with absolutely no threats around him and an inconsistant at best QB.

If you just look at pure numbers (which I don't, I look at it from a skills and production standpoint), but Boston had more catches, more yards, and a higher average per catch last year. If you can catch 98 balls and average over 16 yards per reception, with the talent he had around him, you are as good as anyone in the league.

Moss maybe a better big play threat, but you have to be able to run more than 3 routes before you can even be considered the best WR in the league.

those are good points BK, but the bottom line is if i was in charge of a team and had to pick a WR i would pick Owens and Moss ahead of Boston. I guess you'd pick Boston first, I'm sure lots of people have different ideas.

Mad, I am a TO fan as much as anyone, and actually follow the niners pretty closely. But TO didn't lead that team. They went 12-4 because they could run the ball as evidenced by their #2 run offense ranking, having a QB that makes smart decisions and made plays, and a young and above average defense. TO was a big part, but to say he lead them anywhere is not accurate. And at times he does cause more problems than he helps.

Can you just stick to the points instead of slinging insults at me?
I think Terrell is a cancer and hurts his team. I didn't say (in fact I pointed this out in that other thread you saw) that his actions have always hurt the team the same way.

I'm sure a lot of people would consider TO the top (or top 2 3 whatever) in the NFL because of his talent and boxscore.
And I'm sure I'm not alone in saying he isn't top (or 2 or 3 whatever) because he actions are above a normal cocky ballplayer.

Do you think he'd last one second in New England with the way their team is set up?
I prefer character guys that put the team first, not the "me" first. TO is clearly a "me" guy.

Probably not, but if you can run the ball like that they have a shot. But he didn't lead them anywhere. He's anything but a leader. I have been around that clubhouse several times, and know and played with a few players on that team.

I think he leads by the way he plays, I'm not saying he's giving speeches and stuff but he is the spark plug to that team and is invaluable.

Being that Moss is my Fav player I feel I need to chime in on this. Moss surpasses all WR in the NFL with no comparison. First off how many WR can say I caught double digit TD's my first 5 seasons in the league. Second how many Def coordinator's recruit DB's just to stop Moss alone. Moreover how many WR can say i had 1000+ yards for the first 5 years of my career. Man i could go on fo days about stats on this dude. As for his willingness to play you cant question this man's heart, just watch him every sunday...dude comes to play every day. As for David boston he is at most 6 or 7th best WR. You are saying he is better than Rod Smith, Issac Bruce(most precise route runner you will see), jimmy smith, Harrison, Joe horn. Please man at least do me a favor and dont even put Moss in the same sentence as Boston

Ummmmm... you're saying your opinion that TO is a jerk and a cancer is totally unbias? For starters, there is no such thing as an unbias opinion. But, MY OPINION, is that TO is definitely competing for the best WR in football. I'm a 49ers fan, I'll admit, but that doesn't change the fact that TO is money.

Crappy offense? Yeah... you think that's TO's fault? As opposed to Mooch and Knapp being over conservative? HOW THE HELL DO WE WIN WHEN WE THROW FOR AN AVERAGE OF 4-6 YARDS PER PASS? That's all we did against the Broncos. These short, crappy passes. It's not TO's fault.

What next? You going to blame global warming on TO having the guts to stand up to Mariucci? I live for the end of the season, when hopefully Mooch will be out of a job.

Agreed, and he's a great player. Until I had a chance to really see alot of David Boston film,and see him a few times, I had been arguing that TO was the best WR in football. But he's not the type of player I would want on my team, either as a player or a GM. He does cause some locker room and press issues, and in the long run that can and often does disrupt a ball club.

six figure, what I know about WR's may surprise you. I was just making my statements on having seen them both play live several times and seeing a ton of film on both. This is a position I am actually somewhat qualified to make.

If you want to talk stats (which don't neccasarily measure a WR) Boston outperfomed Moss in just about every category last year.

But if you want to talk abilities, Boston runs better and more varied routes, catches the ball with his hands more as opposed to Moss's body catches, blocks downfield better and does not disappear from the game if he's immediately not involved in the pass game.

Moss needs to prove he can consistantly run more than 3 routes, and can catch the ball between the hasmarks before he can be considered the best WR in the game.

First I would say to average more then 4 yards a completion that TO needs to hold onto the ball when it hits him in the hands.
He also needs to stop mouthing off to everyone so much. You have any idea how much his mouth motivates other teams to play their best against him. And how hard they want to hit him.

It would also help if he didn't complain so much to his own coaches. I'm sure Steve doesn't like having to gameplan not just to win, but to keep him happy.

The only problem with Moss is he is a baby. He has allot of talent and he is the only person holding him back.
