He wasn't wrong. He said to win a Super Bowl with the same team as a player and as a coach. Ditka didn't win a Super Bowl as a player on the Bears (was the NFL Championship at the time).

I thought the exact same thing when they kept saying that at first, but it makes sense.

I don't really think it was that big of a deal. One week from now it will be forgotten. But acting like that is normal behavior in the SB? Not buying that at all. Yeah, I'm sure he was running to the ball and then in that split second he remembered the Drew Brees injury. Give me a break.
No he didn't specifically think of Drew Brees' injury, but you don't have to think about Drew Brees getting hurt to know what can happen to you jumping in there like that. I don't need to see somebody jab themselves with a taser or remember the time I saw somebody jab themselves with a taser to know I don't want to do that.

Kubiak didn't win a SB with the Broncos as a player so Nantz is still wrong.

He didn't say it like that though. That's what he meant I understand now, but he was saying the first coach to win a Super Bowl for the same team he played for.

I'm not understanding folks saying it was a bad SB. I was pretty entertained and it was close till the end. I think people just like to say that they enjoy good defense because it sounds cool. Every time we get a good defensive game, people complain.

Gotta give credit to Denver but like I said, that was not an optimal gameplan by Carolina at all.
You'd think they'd move Cam around with bootlegs, sweep options, something to get him outside...rather, it was continual drop backs with intermediate to long routes.

Running game didn't get much and the drops by Cotchery at the 5 (HUGE underrated play as it could've moved the score to 14-16 in the 3rd) and the Ginn drop that was intercepted were killer. After Philly Brown went out, there was nobody getting open.

A stubborn part of me wants to go into how we won this game in spite of Peyton, but the bottom line is we won and I'm happy for him and Ware the most.

Man, Elway, figure out a way to bring all these guys back on D. Losing Mannings contract should help a bit

That is true enough I suppose.
But there is always a chance for injury playing football. To continue your taser analogy, maybe you shouldn't enroll in the police academy or sign up for the taser class since that carries with it a likelihood of being tased.

What I think happened is that all season coaches tell their QBs not to risk injury doing things like that. Cam remembered those instructions and it overpowered his desire to win the superbowl. Maybe you view that as a bad thing or maybe you are more forgiving. But I don't want to hear talk of Cam's passion for the game or desire to win after that.

Denver faced Big Ben, Tom Brady, and NFL MVP Cam Newton on their road to Super Bowl champs. All three were responsible for a whopping one touchdown combined against the Denver defense. That's some really impressive **** in today's NFL.

At least Super Bowl XXXVIII was entertaining. This game made me want to gouge my eyes out during the majority of it. Ugh.

Yeah I said it at halftime that they needed to use more misdirection and try to get guys in the open field. But they just kept plugging straight into the Bronco defense.
