Seriously though, I had just never heard of that before and thought it was interesting enough to share. It's funny to me that this is NEVER talked about. Yet every feature on Cam discusses his past. Yet another dichotomy in coverage.

It happened over 20 years ago and there are two very different sides to that story.

Not really sure how it's relevant to this thread unless we want to play the "our guys are better than your guys" game.

Again, just bringing it up to say that I was wrong earlier. I said that any QB would be treated how Cam is being treated if they did what he did. That's obviously not the case.

My second point about how Cam's past is constantly referred to when he's talked about, yet this story is never brought up, supports that argument.

We can move on though. I just found it interesting and relevant to what has been discussed the past 18 hours or so.

I don't post this to bring up race, more to show that I was wrong when I said earlier that any player would be treated the same way that Cam is had they done something similar. And to bring this other story to light about Peyton.
There is definitely a racial issue with this.. No matter if you want to bring it up or not. There was absolutely nothing wrong with how he handled yesterday. I still consider Cam to be a role model. The guy doesn't get in any off the field trouble and helps in the community. That should say a lot since so many NFL players have off the field troubles. I'm not even a Panthers fan, but I can't sit and let people drag this dude with ignorance and make him seem like just another stereotypical black guy with an attitude problem.

I read the rest of this thread before posting so I didn't know about all that with Cam overhearing the Bronco player talking up the defense and such. I will give a mea culpa on what I said last night. I know that if I heard my opponent gloating and acting all jubilant after what went on I'd have made a hasty exit too. In that circumstance, with raw emotion and knowing you're going to be asked stupid questions it's tough enough but to hear another guy yammering on about how they shut me down....Yeah, i'm gonna head out of dodge.

Pouting and sulking because you lost? Not giving their defense any credit? You have to show more class than that.
Wow I do agree it sucks to hear anothers press conference but if the shoe was on the other foot he act the same way. It comes with the territory. All season you and your team acted cocky and such so when you get beat of course tge other team is going to try to "rub it in".

I've defended Cam from the get go. Love the guy (and have since Auburn) and he'll be back in that game soon. Everyone who acts that way is treated the same, see BB or Lynch so we agree to that. He did nothing wrong yesterday by walking out of that presser. Lost the biggest game of his life, until someone who's been on that same stage says otherwise you won't get me to change my mind (anyone I heard today who's been in that situation has had no problem with what he did).

I still don't see how that incident is related to how Cam is being treated though. I'm happy to move on and apologize if I missed something.

He was not. He was on IR.

And yes, that has been the setup for a few years now for whatever reason.

                      Meh.

You're acting like the stage of the SB was the reason for it.

Cam walked out of a post game presser after a regular season loss to the 49ers.

He's emo and when things aren't going well, he pouts.

I hate the whole "until you've been on that stage" pseudo argument.

Who the hell cares? He walked out of a presser. Do you watch them intently listening to every word? If not, you shouldn't care. If you do god help you then can't be fun.

I hate when people assume he'll be back to the SB soon.

                          Buncha psychics I guess.

But the dudes who actually PLAY in these games and actually have to get their asses kicked and eat a tough loss are supposed to not feel that same way, meanwhile we want them to fee that same way cause then we know they care and all

                              Shame on you Cam
