Re: Super Bowl 50: Denver Broncos vs. Carolina Panthers Game Discussion Thread
He's in it for himself? So he didn't dive on a ball, that makes him selfish? Like he doesn't care about his team? I stretch sometimes to make a stupid point but at least half the time I don't believe what I'm saying.
I've never said he'll get to another one. I think he will, but I'm not gonna act like it's a sure fire thing. But if he does, if they lose, it'll be different.

Re: Super Bowl 50: Denver Broncos vs. Carolina Panthers Game Discussion Thread
This one though was such a substantial play. The first drive of the 2nd half, Carolina desperately needed points...if nothing else for momentum (to use MLB Now's favorite term). A FG would've been a boost but that would've been a sure TD and a lead.
Our entire offensive playcalling, while not different in the 3rd quarter, would've been much more effective. Running the ball down by a TD is much different than running the ball with the lead...plus, that would put the PA pass much more effective as well.Originally posted by Gibson88Anyone who asked for an ETA is not being Master of their Domain.
It's hard though...especially when I got my neighbor playing their franchise across the street...maybe I will occupy myself with Glamore Magazine.Comment

Lmao imagine what you'd say if Cam dove on it, got injured and left Carolina with Derek Anderson's crusty ***. People would he saying he was so stupid, it's the Super Bowl how could he be so stupid. People can twist things however they want with Cam, as long as he looks like a bad guy.

Not for Carolina it's not. You recover the ball but you have your backup QB with 13 games played in the past 5 years with no postseason experience. Heart and soul and doing it for the team is great but I don't believe that applies where he could get injured.
Obviously he wouldn't have been injured and maybe if I was more neutral to Cam I'd think otherwise. I've never played what you guys call football, I specialise in the other kind so maybe it's instinct to dive on a loose ball which Cam hasn't acted on but I think there were more important things happened in the game than him not jumping on the ball.

Re: Super Bowl 50: Denver Broncos vs. Carolina Panthers Game Discussion Thread
I picked Denver to win mainly because of what that defense did to New England and I felt like they weren't getting enough credit up to the Super Bowl. I thought Carolina's gameplan was too focused on getting large gains in the passing game rather than short quick passes to counter the blitz. However, it's not all on Cam those drops were crucial and I hate to see that he gave all of his critics fuel for how he conducted himself at the end and in the post game. Dude had such a great year for it to end like that, but in part it's his own fault and I'm sure he's been humbled and will move on.Comment

And here I thought you'd be an upstanding role model for other operation sports members."It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

You have to dive for the ball.
I don't agree it's because the game is about him. I don't think it crossed his mind to dive for it because he simply didn't think to do it. A lot happening in that moment. Some guys dive. Some don't.

No reasonable person would fault Cam for diving after the ball at that point in the game. Only people who make a stink under the hypothetical would be those seeking attention.Comment
