    No, man. No.
I should know better than to double post, but I can't agree with this. Can't complain about the Russell Wilson's and then smh at Cam. Pretty we are making a bigger deal out of this than anyone in that locker room.

Russell Wilson would've dove for it...

At least that's what I'm told. Or maybe that's because I've heard his name get mentioned so many times for some random reason since the game.

It was a one score game. If Carolina recovers that ball, even if they had been subsequently forced to punt they would very likely have got one more shot. By not getting it the final 5 minutes was reduced to garbage time.

I felt confident in Carolina winning up until the Newton fumble (4:16 left in the game clock?). If Carolina had managed to score a TD on one of the two final drives the Super Bowl was won. No way could I see Denver manage even a FG drive to answer at the time. The offense felt dead. At least that's the feeling I had watching. But then the fumble happened.

That would have been 4th down with 4 minutes left in the game. If Carolina punts what are the odds that sizzling Denver offense would have gone three and out?

It wasn't like Carolina's offense was chugging along either.

You could also argue that once Philly Brown went down the rest of the game was by in large garbage time. Denver was overloading the box and selling out to stop the run knowing they had the advantage in the back end. Brown was the only Panther receiver that was making plays. His injury reduced the depleted pass catchers to Ginn, Cotchery and Funches.

At some point are people going to recognize that Denvers defense was not going to allow the Panthers to comeback in this game. The Refs were letting the DBs play physical and no one on the Panthers outside of Cam was making plays. The game was over anyone who believes otherwise is kidding themselvs.

That said, I am in the minority on this, but its all there on the film for those that are so inclined to watch it. I respect your opinion Coogs and I've said my piece on the decision not to go for the fumble.

For the most part, I agree with you and him (his future with the franchise is worth much more than any 1 play, even in the Super Bowl). But you can't tell the world that you were ducking injury in the Super Bowl. Just lie.

NFL may suspend Tablib for the facemask. I think they would have probably have a hard time getting anything beyond a fine to stick until he said this:

“[The facemask] I just did on purpose, and I just had to show him. It’s probably going to be a fine, but, hey, we’re world champs.”

Kinda moves beyond just a facemask penalty at that point IMO.

^That's the sort of thing that stats can't account for...

                      Carolina did look a little...flinchy.

He's a thug. There's hard hitters in the league who don't act like pricks but Talib is just a dirty dude. Hope he gets his suspension and a fine.

I think they have to suspend him and let the appeal process sort it out. The fact that he would say what he says goes beyond acceptable behavior IMO.

Can you remind me of the last time someone was ejected for a facemask penalty while making a tackle? Not talking about some fight or other after the whistle garbage. Because just this season there were about 4 of them that were worse than that one.
Actually they were showing everyone to play. of the 18 flags if you take away personal foul and presnap flags (false start/delay of game) you end up with a small number of flags.

Holding ran rampart in the trenches dbs were allowed to be physical receivers were allowed to battle back and we ended up with an Ole fashion defensive battle where teams were allowed to play. At least they let everyone play and just tried to keep the extra part play stuff down.

So while yes they let stuff go they stayed fairly consistent on it. A few ticky tact calls here and there. Defensive holding at the end offensive holding on denver's 4th and 1. But in the end they let them play.

Glad the broncos won and was a great defensive battle and watching the defense single handily won the game was impressive. Less than 200 yards of offense with multiple turnovers and they still held and put the offense in scoring positions. Hopefully we can find a way to retain as much as possible because this defense is fun to watch. Granted I won't feel bad if Talib is gone. Way to many bone headed plays.

Just read every post in this thread... kinda pissed how many made me not want to even participate.

People wonder why I felt like calling out the overreactions... it gets tiring. I know the season is over but there is SO MUCH MORE to talk about than a press conference and fumble. The Denver D needed to break Cam, mentally and physically... cut off the head of the snake. People want to give them props but then pile on the broken man? To each their own I guess.
