Re: Week 12 Discussion Thread
I understand the rule. It's just it almost had zero effect on the play. Unless I'm missing something. Like if he had the recovery. I could understand.Hands Down....Man Down - 2k9 memories

Re: Week 12 Discussion Thread
I don't see any way we can complain about officials correctly calling a non subjective penalty.
(It's even more odd that you would say if he had recovered it you would be okay with it, that's pretty contradictory, but neither here nor there now).
If you want to say the rules sucks you won't get an objection from me, the new onside kick rules suck for the most part. I think there was a way they could have still re-done them keeping player safety in mind while still making it something somewhat possible to recover.Comment

Re: Week 12 Discussion Thread
We've spent all year complaining about terrible officiating on subjective calls - and very justifiably so in my opinion.

But agree with everything you said. I'm just saying it sucks he wasn't active involved with the recovery. Like you said. I would think there could be some flexibility in the rules to open up recoveries. At the end of the day that exciting.Hands Down....Man Down - 2k9 memories

Or, he could just know the rule/pay attention and take one step to his right. Problem solved

Re: Week 12 Discussion Thread
Proposal! They keep all the existing rules on onsides: spreading out the coverage team, has to travel 10 yards, etc. But - the kicker can set the tee anywhere along the 35, not just within the hashes. It forces the receiving team to spread themselves and defend the width of the field rather than half.Bills, Sabres, Illini, Cubs, basically any team that abuses its fanbase and I'm there.Comment
