Re: 2022 Offseason Thread
I do think they want him and this is just a leverage tool. His value is as high as its going to get. Only way is that if Bucs(without Brady) putting up good offensive stats. But Bucs are a mediocre season away from his value dropping.
I don't see the loyalty towards Baalke. The fanbase wants him gone. The HC-GM relationship is important for successComment

Re: 2022 Offseason Thread
They’ve got some weird hiring rules. If the Rams win the Jaguars can’t officially interview O’Connell until after the Super Bowl because they didn’t do a first interview during the divisional playoff week, but the Vikings can interview him as soon as tomorrow since they already did an interview

"The #Raiders are expected to hire #Patriots de facto GM Dave Ziegler as their new GM, per, @MikeGarafolo and @TomPelissero. He was key in New England’s fast turnaround, now turns his attention to Las Vegas. The next step is slated to be the hire of Josh McDaniels as head coach."
"Raiders are expected to hire former Patriots’ OC Josh McDaniels as their head coach, per sources. Two sides still are finalizing the contract, but McDaniels is their man."Last edited by illwill10; 01-30-2022, 01:59 PM.Comment

Re: 2022 Offseason Thread
"A new candidate has emerged in Jacksonville: Sources say the #Jaguars want to interview #Rams OC Kevin O’Connell, a dark horse who could quickly become the front runner.
My story: https://t.co/CExiFtnU0f "
Feels like it was lock for Leftwich. But, it feels like he has to accept Baalke or they'll find someone who will. They’ve got some weird hiring rules. If the Rams win the Jaguars can’t officially interview O’Connell until after the Super Bowl because they didn’t do a first interview during the divisional playoff week, but the Vikings can interview him as soon as tomorrow since they already did an interview

Baalke tried to spoil the interview list and only interview people he thought would work with him. Leftwich has made it known from reports that he doesn't want Baalke and the agent, who represents most of the coaches, wanted him out or power removed in the contract. Baalke was pushing Eberflus because supposedly he wanted a HC job no matter what. So while they were screwing around with Leftwich, everyone else gets hired. Then Baalke adds Fangio because he won't care who the GM is. This is already after O'Brien was interviewed for the same reason and it was terrible.
The current state is unknown but the rumors are the following.
1. Khan got pissed with everything being leaked. He wants to wait and be the one to announce it so they are waiting.
2. Leftwich refused to work with Baalke and named the GM he wants. Reports came out that an agreement was in place but because of Rooney rule changes, the Jags can't just hire him. They have to go through formal interviews and find 1 more minority candidate to satisfy the rule. So rule is holding them up hiring 2 minority candidates but whatever NFL.
3. Khan is pissed Leftwich pulled a power play like that and doesn't want to fire Baalke so they are starting the search over.
Supposedly Tony Khan flew in end of the week to try and convince his dad to hire Leftwich and fire Baalke. Khan seems to be very stubborn and loyal to people he likes. For whatever reason he is being loyal to Baalke. Tony is very into analytics and wants to be more involved with the Jags but some reason his dad just won't listen to his ideas much. He's done a great job with AEW and other things so many fans want him to be put in charge as EVP or something like that.
At this point, I expect the process to take so long and every coach to turn them down that Bevell is given the job and Baalke stays.

Re: 2022 Offseason Thread
Almost seems like if Bienemy wants a HC job, his best bet would be to leave KC to become an OC somewhere else, improve/replicate what he did in KC with the new team and then get an interview that way.#RespectTheCultureComment

Re: 2022 Offseason Thread
That’s what Lafleur did and it seemed like the right move. I’ve also heard Bieniemy is having a hard time putting together a potential staff and that’s what is holding him back.Comment

Re: 2022 Offseason Thread
That might be his best bet is to go else where to be OC where he has complete control of offseason.
Doug Pederson had the same issue with not being able to put together a staff. He inherited Chip Kelly's staff and they wanted Schwartz to be DC incase they had to move on from Pederson. I'm surprised because he's been around long enough to have connections to form potential staffs.
Must be interviews or past that holds him back. At this point, his value won't get any higher than it is now. Kafka is the next in the line to be OC for Chiefs. Eric does have a rap sheet, but most of it comes over 20-30 years ago and mostly connected to ColoradoComment

Re: 2022 Offseason Thread
Didn't know about Bieniemy's past legal troubles. Seems he has trouble with his driving :P
So apparently he is a bad interview, might not be able to put together a staff and has had past legal troubles.
Still, just give him a job so I don't have to listen about him not getting a HC job.OSHA Inspector for the NBA.Comment

I call BS on his past being an issue, especially knowing the men currently employed in this league and the men doing the hiring as well.#RespectTheCultureComment

Re: 2022 Offseason Thread
Is something to take into account, its speak to his character and judgment. Players are graded on a spectrum depending on how good/talented they are and how bad it is whatever is it that they did. As for the hiring, if you mean the owners, yeah, plenty of pieces of **** but they got the money. Life ain't fair.
Maybe he grew out of it? Don't know, that argument is muddied up by the fact that he got a DUI at 30.

2022 Offseason Thread
I don’t think it is considering he’s been clean since that incident, as far as we know. He’s been getting interviews for years so we know that’s not stopping teams.
I can buy him being a bad interview if that’s what it truly is. I do think he’ll ultimately end up getting a HC job though.Last edited by ProfessaPackMan; 01-30-2022, 07:23 PM.#RespectTheCultureComment

Re: 2022 Offseason Thread
He did something similar in Arizona - his veteran QB retired and he walked away the same offseason. Tampa pushed all their chips in for the Super Bowl and they have a hard rebuild ahead. The roster is going to be very top heavy. It's the perfect time for him to retire and go out on top.Bills, Sabres, Illini, Cubs, basically any team that abuses its fanbase and I'm there.Comment
