    Re: 2022 Offseason Thread

While it’s totally expected that Liam Coen is going to take the OC job with the Rams, there are a couple of items that are holding things up.

    1. Contract…last year, Kevin O’Connell made $616k as the OC of the Rams. Coen is slated to make $1.1M next season with Kentucky.

    2. Finding Kentucky’s next OC…It’s reported that Coen is actively involved in the coaching search to hire his replacement as he wasn’t planning on being one and done at Kentucky. Right now, the favorite for the job seems to be Jets QB coach Rob Calabrese.

I don’t think that’s a smart move for Nagy. Other than his four years in Chicago he’s worked for Andy Reid his whole career. Go somewhere else and learn something new if you ever want another shot at being a head coach

Agreed. What does he have against individual growth?

              OT rule change? Hopefully

Wonder if it will get any support.

That just shifts the advantage to the team getting the ball 2nd. They really are only at a disadvantage if the other teams has a long drive and doesn't score. Otherwise they should be returning a KR or getting good field position on a punt.

Then if they score a TD to tie, they go for 2 to win.

They need to just make it each team gets 1 possession and you keep going until it isn't tied after the possession by each team.

The game is slanted too much to the offense to end the game on the 1st td.

I still think the problem isn't the First Possession TD, the problem is the coin toss. Introduce a non-random way of deciding possession like spot-and-choose or a silent bid, and the losing team has only themselves to blame if they don't get the ball first.

Was only a matter of time since they’ve dodged it this long but the Packers will be headed to London next season. The other 4 teams going outside the country will be the Jags, Saints, Cards and Bucs.

Also, GB, Detroit and Washington are the finalists for the 2024 NFL Draft.

Some hard matchups to pick for those teams.

                      Packers/Jet's or Giants
                      Jaguars/Broncos or Giants
                      Saints/Raiders
Cards/Eagles? Not much to choose from for them.
Bucs/Another tough one. Seahawks or Ravens maybe?

"Cowboys are “likely” to release WR Amari Cooper by the start of the new league year, per league sources.

Cooper is due $20 million in fully guaranteed money on the fifth day of the new league year, March 20."

Cooper doesn’t make the flashy plays that you see from guys like Chase, but it just seems like something looks off with the Cowboys offense when Cooper isn’t playing

Even assuming Davante gets tagged, kind of a ludicrous amount of WR talent available in the FA market and the draft this year. If you can't get your QB weapons this offseason, your GM just sucks.

The Buffalo Bills have granted wide receiver Cole Beasley permission to seek a trade, general manager Brandon Beane confirmed to ESPN.

BUFFALO, N.Y. -- The Buffalo Bills have granted wide receiver Cole Beasley permission to seek a trade, general manager Brandon Beane confirmed to ESPN.

Beasley's camp first approached the Bills about the possible move, and the team agreed to allow the slot receiver to investigate other options. Finding a solution for his impact on the salary cap seemed inevitable as he is currently set to account for $7.6 million in cap space on the final year of a four-year, $29 million contract.

Releasing or trading Beasley would save the Bills $6.1 million in cap space with $1.5 million remaining in dead cap. Buffalo currently has about $1 million in cap space with moves expected in the near future.

Maybe New York would want him for his familiarity with Daboll and the NFC East? I dunno, that seems like a tough guy to trade.

I know it's standard offseason slow news day stuff and "dude I heard from a guy" but I really don't know if I'd want Rodgers in Pittsburgh. The talent is there, sure, but what you'd have to give up to get him and the multiple needs the team has I'd rather go through the draft.
