I don't see the logic of Giants keeping Judge. Gentlemen is likely to "retire". I get that they don't want to keep cycling through HC's every 2-3 years, but I don't think running it back with him and Jones will do much better. Plus it severely limits which GM will be interested in the job.

As we seen so far, it is important for the GM and HC to be aligned and have the same vision. I think Flores has a better chance of getting a HC job this year compared to Fangio. Fangio might be one of the coaches who are better as a coordinator than a HC.

Lions have let go of OC Anthony Lynn

Panthers to have interest in Texans’ Qb Coach Pep Hamilton, former Texans and current Alabama OC Bill O’Brien, former Washington HC Jay Gruden and Rams’ OC Kevin O’Connell for their open OC position.

Logic and John Mara don't belong in the same sentence.

Could it be possible that he’s leaving it up to the new GM? (Doesn’t have the guts to make the move himself)

It seems like Denver and the Bears are casting very wide nets on their searches. I’m not going to list everyone but the one guy the Bears are interested in that has me optimistic is Rick Smith. I just wish they would wait until they have a GM to look for a Coach and let the GM be involved

My first thought was that it was a poor decision until finding out about the supposed power struggle. It makes a little more sense now.

If that's true. Then good by. Could we hire Brian? [emoji23]

It would be a nice home coming. Played vs and with the dude. Good player. Even better coach.

But, it makes sense to clean house and change the culture. Wonder what they'll do with Jones. A new GM and HC will want their own QB

I saw all of the HCs that have been fired this year have beaten the Panthers since they hired Rhule.

                          That's encouraging

I’m just surprised it took them this long. Like what could they have possibly been contemplating for the last two days?

Since the NFL expanded to a 14-team playoff two years ago, 21 teams have qualified for the playoffs. Of the 11 teams that haven't qualified, including the New York Giants team that fired Joe Judge today, only one now hasn't made a coaching change: the Panthers.

I don't understand it either. With how things spiraled and them wanting to hire a GM, you have to have a clean slate.

But, the Giants aren't an appealing job outside of 2 top 10 picks. Poor cap situation, needs all over, poor signings. You would want time and patience, but last 3 coaches lasted just 2 years each. This is a job for a young GM and coach
