I’m curious in seeing what the contract actually looks like because I imagine there are gonna be some clauses in that contract which could allow them to cut bait and allow them cut bait and not get crushed financially should something happen off the field.#RespectTheCultureComment

I don’t even care about the number he’s getting paid, since that’s always leaked by the agent

Re: 2022 Offseason Thread
That’s probably how Cleveland got back in the mix, offer him huge guaranteed money with no way for them to get out of it that other teams weren’t willing to doComment

Re: 2022 Offseason Thread
What I’m mentioning wouldn’t go beyond the CBA though.
Like if Deshaun were to wake up one day and commit murder and then get locked up, I imagine they have some type of moral clause in there(which is standard)that would allow them to cut bait.#RespectTheCultureComment

But if every dollar is already guaranteed, there's nowhere for it to go. You have nothing to convert. Right?Bills, Sabres, Illini, Cubs, basically any team that abuses its fanbase and I'm there.Comment

Re: 2022 Offseason Thread
My understanding, please correct me, is that you can only restructure unguaranteed base salary into guaranteed bonuses to push cap hits into the future. The player doesn't even have to agree, because you're giving them a benefit: their unguaranteed money becomes guaranteed.

Re: 2022 Offseason Thread
Relative to Baker, Watson is arguably the model of maturity....at least when it comes to things like not being passive aggressive, with the media and seemingly in the locker room too.

"Strong safety Anthony Harris, the former Vikings’ franchise player who spent last season with the Eagles, is returning to Philadelphia on a one-year deal, per source."
Ehh, I guess I'm okay with it. He wasn't bad, just wasn't as impactful as we hoped. Still need to address Safety position in draftComment

Re: 2022 Offseason Thread
I'm not gonna pretend there is no moral questionability here.
But strictly football speaking, I am excited to see what Watson can do for us. You could make the argument that Watson is the best QB the Browns have had since Otto Graham. That is of course depending on him getting back to his old form. Which I don't see being an issue.
And I used to be a Baker apologist. But this past year, he made his bed. He's immature. You don't see any other QB's acting like he does. I think it was just yesterday where he tweeted at a Cleveland reporter and told her to basically shut up and stop using his name to put food on her table. Like really?Comment

Re: 2022 Offseason Thread
Carolina and Atlanta would have had better offers that included players but I guess this is what happens when you cede all control of your operation to hostage-takers like Deshaun Watson.
Couldn't be happier that that guy is gone. What a fall from grace.Comment

Well I certainly didn’t see the Browns winning this one. Will be interesting to see what happens and see if the Texans get anyone good in the draft.
